Franck Ribéry extends contract to 2019

QUOTE
Franck Ribéry will don the FC Bayern München shirt for another season. On Monday the 35 year-old extended his contract, which was due to expire this summer, by one year until 30 June 2019. Ribéry has been at FC Bayern since 2007 and celebrated his eighth German league title this season.

"We're very pleased that Franck is staying with us," said sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic after the signing of the deal. "Franck has once again proven, in the Bundesliga as well as the Champions League and DFB Cup, what excellent performances he's capable of and the great quality he possesses. As well as that, he's one of our fan favourites."

Ribéry has scored 80 goals in 247 Bundesliga appearances and won the Champions League with Bayern in 2013, the same year in which he was voted European Footballer of the Year. After signing his new contract, he commented: "I'm very happy that I'll get to play for this great club for another year. Munich has long since become home for me and my family and I'm therefore very proud that I'll be able to wear the FC Bayern shirt again next season."

FC Bayern have signed up another up-and-coming youngster. U19 player Meritan Shabani penned a pro contract to 30 June 2020 on Tuesday at Säbener Straße. The offensive midfielder has been at the record champions for 12 years. He made his Bundesliga debut in the 4-1 home win against Eintracht Frankfurt on 28 April.

"Meritan is a highly talented and promising player who has been through all our youth teams. We're happy to have him at the club over the long term," said sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic. "He has already shown his potential on the training ground and in the league game against Frankfurt."

Shabani said after signing the contract: "FC Bayern are my club. I'm incredibly happy to have this chance. I want to keep on working and learning in the coming years."

This season, the 19-year-old has scored eight goals and provided five assists in 20 appearances in the U19 Bundesliga. On top of that, he has played six games and scored one goal in the UEFA Youth League, appeared once in the Youth DFB Cup and had two outings for the reserves in the Regional League.

Arjen Robben and Rafinha will play for FC Bayern for at least one more season. Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge and sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic have today reached an agreement with the 34-year-old Dutch winger and the 32-year-old Brazilian defender for the duo to extend their contracts for another year through to 30 June 2019. They will ink their new deals in the next few days.

"We're delighted to be agreeing contract entensions with these highly-rated players," said Hasan Salihamidzic on the eve of the final Bundesliga match against VfB Stuttgart. "Both Arjen Robben and Rafinha play an important role in our plans for the new season."

Robben joined FC Bayern from Real Madrid in 2009, winning seven German championship titles and four DFB Cups so far. He scored the match-winner in the 2-1 victory over Borussia Dortmund in the 2013 Champions League final. Brazil international Rafinha first pulled on FC Bayern colours in 2011, and has won six German championship titles, three DFB Cups and the Champions League in 2013.

FC Bayern have signed Franck Evina on a long-term professional contract. The forward inked a pro contract through 30 June 2021 on Friday. The 17-year-old talent made his Bundesliga debut in the 4-1 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt on 28 April and was in the starting line-up for the 3-1 victory over Köln last Saturday.

"Franck is a quick forward who has enormous athletic qualities," said sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic: "We're very happy we've secured his services over the long term, and we aim to further promote his good progress."

Franck Evina joined the FC Bayern U-14s from SV Neuperlach-München in the summer of 2013, and appeared for all the German record champions' youth teams since then. Evina has been playing for the reserves in the fourth-tier Regionalliga since the 2017/18 winter break. "It's a great honour to get this chance at FC Bayern. I want to continue to learn a lot in the next few years and want to repay the club's faith with good performances," said Evina, who has made one appearance for the Germany U-18s so far.

QUOTE
FC Bayern sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic and Miroslav Klose have today reached an agreement for the 39-year-old world champion to coach the FCB U-17s as of this summer. The former Bayern forward and FCB have agreed a two-year contract through 30 June 2020.

The World Cup all-time record scorer takes over from Holger Seitz, who will coach the reserves in the Regionalliga. Klose made 98 Bundesliga appearances for FC Bayern from 2007 to 2011, scoring 24 goals. He won two German championship titles and two DFB Cups with the German record champions and made 137 appearances for Germany. Klose, who hung up his boots in 2015, is currently an assistant to Germany head coach Joachim Löw. "I'm very much looking forward to the task at FC Bayern, and I'll do everything to justify the faith shown in me by the way I coach the young players," said Klose.

Sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic said: "It's our philosophy to secure the services of successful and valued former players. So I'm very glad that Miro Klose will pass on his enormous wealth of expeirence to our young talents, and that he will help us as a coach."

FC Bayern Campus director Jochen Sauer was pleased after the signing, commenting: "Bringing in Miro Klose as U-17s coach is a crucial component for FC Bayern in training our promising talents."

FC Bayern have secured the services of another promising young talent. At the Säbener Strasse HQ on Wednesday, U-19 keeper Ron-Thorben Hoffmann inked a pro contract through 30 June 2021. Three more home-grown talents - Lars Lukas Mai, Meritan Shabani and Franck Evina - have signed pro contracts over the last few weeks.

"We're very happy we've signed Thorben, another talent. He has outstanding qualities," said sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic. "He has repeatedly demonstrated his skills at a top level, both in terms of control of the penalty area and on the goal-line."

Hoffmann joined the FC Bayern youth section from RB Leipzig in the summer of 2015. The 19-year-old has made 24 appearances in the U-19 Bundesliga and three UEFA Youth League appearances this term.

"I've been a Bayern fan since I was three. A dream has come true with the pro contract in Munich," said Hoffmann. "I've invested a lot, but now the actual work begins. I want to establish myself in football. FC Bayern offer me the best conditions, and I want to use them in training and in competition on a daily basis."

The goalkeeping talent won the South German championship with the U-19s last season, advancing to the German championship final against Borussia Dortmund, but losing on penalties.

It's official: Arjen Robben will stay at FC Bayern for at least another season. Two days ahead of the DFB Cup final against Eintracht Frankfurt, the 34-year-old Dutchman signed a new contract with the German record champions to 30 June 2019.

Robben joined FCB in August 2009 from Spanish record champions Real Madrid and since then he has won the German league title seven times and the DFB Cup four times. Robben secured his place in the history books in 2013 when he scored the winner against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League final at Wembley Stadium.

“Basically, I’d already like to get started on the new season, to be honest. It was really, really painful, it really did hurt and still hurts now, that I had to go off in the Champions League semi-final and missed the second leg. It hurts. So next season I’ll once again give everything I’ve got so we have a good season, and hopefully I can be an important part of the team.”
