Only cellular model have gps support. Therefore wifi model doesnt support gps apps like papago.
I can say that its kinda impractical to use ipad for gps unless you have the stand to hold it in your car.

Do you rely only tablet for gps? Its just too huge to me.. If you have smartphone, use that instead. Plug in the cable and you are good to go.

The gps just a plus for cellular model.

I assume your only concern is gps function, unless you want to get connected anywhere, then you are indeed buying wrong ipad model..
*
Yea i agree with u. The main reason i get the 4G model is becuz i wanna get online anywhere i want and not those with wifi hotspot only smile.gif GPS is a plus here but i don see myself use it everyday as my cellular data do smile.gif

P/s i do use a lot of GPS on foursquare and other location based apps smile.gif But that can be done via wifi as well, just not that accurate the position

thank you.

the reason i bought this ipad is to assist me to check the map when i am in oversea.

i am wonder will it help if i am having 4G model?
*
Ya it surely will help as unare freely to subscribe any prepaid plan oversea and can get online anywhere when u r in oversea. Besides that, the gps chip can provide u far more better accuracy than what a wifi unit can for u, especially when u go to crowded city like London, every buildings are packed closely, this is the time where u will notice the big diff between the presence of gps chip and no gps chip.

better than celcom n digi eh?
thx!
*
Yea, but please check your area got good 3G Maxis signal or not first. I am a Maxis One Club member but due to the very poor 3G signal in my University, i am forced to change to Celcom. Still, i keep my maxis as my mobile number, just change the broadband. Called them a lot of times and yet still they do nothing to improve the 3G doh.gif

Do you have sound when u play video or music? If not, did u mute ur iPad? Try to turn up the volume. If not, try to bring it back to the shop u bought if it is still within 7 days.

my bf told me that getting a new phone is better than getting an ipad (using an old nokia 5800 btw) somemore i'm a college student, so not really necessary to get one ._.
*
Haha .. it all depends on how you are going to use it. I am an University user and i chose to buy iPad instead of iPhone 4s that time is mainly due to the bigger screen of iPad in which i can use it as an on the go laptop smile.gif

haha of course tongue.gif wonder how 4th gen will be like

Apple is like retain their design for 2 years ( As can be seen from iPhone 4 - 4s & iPad 2- 3 )

So iPad 4 will definitely have a better design smile.gif

when i first put my celcom sim into my new iPad, some popup message appear says to update the network provider to latest [something like that, dont remember what's the full message says exactly], so, what is that exactly, is it happen because it was build for 4G so some upgrade needed for 3G card or what? i have says yes to it but didnt noticed any different after that....
*
I think that you are prompted to update your carrier settings, which enables you to use Personal Hotspot in the New iPad smile.gif

Does digi got personal hotspot? I currently using digi 3G thing in my iPhone 3GS. Can I use Bluetooth to connect iPad 3 from iPhone 3GS?

How can I charge my iPad 3 from car or computer?
*
I do not think Digi currently supporting personal hotspot for iPad 3. As far as i know, only Maxis, Celcom and Umobile support it in iPad 3 smile.gif

What do u mean ? U wan to tether your connection from 3Gs to iPad 3 wifi only ? hmm.gif

oh.. thanks... but i dont think it will work well cause celcom seems to always go to 'E' instead of '3G' when i turn on the cellular data option....  shakehead.gif  shakehead.gif
huhu... is anyone got like 'H' or 'H+' using celcom anywhere with new iPad??
hmm.gif
*
U are using celcom or digi? By the way, do check your coverage of celcom 3G in your area, some area might not get strong 3G signal.
