Hi, I'm starting this to compile a list of all upcoming Diablo 3 players and which region they're going/planning to play in (primarily).

Note that each region's server will have it's own character list.
i.e: US server : You have Lvl 60 Barbarian does NOT imply it is also there in ASIA server (this may change but doubt it)

Also, it is officially confirmed, your address on your BattleNet will determine which RMAH you will be bound to.
Malaysia address will be using US RMAH.

Please either post here or PM me with:

Your LYN Nick | Region server you're playing in | Battletag (optional)

US Region (62 players)

EUROPE Region

ASIA Region (3 players)
elvenchou1987 | Virus#1466
WintersuN | No Battletag yet
slickz | SLickz#1944

Undecided Region (12 players)

RMAH FAQ

New Updates!
Please note this may still be subject to change still as Blizzard has promised an update but hasn't done so for almost 1.5 months now has just updated it yesterday.

how do I know my region??? please help???

You choose which region you want to play in.
By default, Asia players will default to US servers.

You can select other region to play in but:

1. Your characters will not be brought from other regions' server.
2. You may not be able to participate in RMAH (if you're playing in other region than your BNet address)

Most will want to decide which region they play in due to the following possible reasons:

1) Latency/lag
2) RMAH
3) Friends

Coz if they swap region after leveling alot, all would be lost (they're still kept on original server) when they go to new region D3 server.
The new region will not have any character (assuming first time playing there).

So for those of us buying US region and playing in US server, am I right in concluding that it is not really clear whether we will be able to access the US RMAH? hmm.gif
*
Correct, it is not 100% confirmed yet.
Still awaiting final confirmation by Blizzard on how they're handling this.
At the moment, it's suspected it will be based on the address listed in your BNet account.

If my bnet account addres is Malaysia then i canot use rmah and canot lay at us server?
*
You CAN play in US server regardless of what address your BNet acc is.

BUT you probably can't use the RMAH of Europe (if your BNet address is Malaysia).
If you want to use RMAH, you will need to play in ASIA or US server (check FAQ #4).

*DISCLAIMER: The above is subject to change with Blizzard's upcoming announcement on RMAH.

Added on April 26, 2012, 3:23 pmMy advice to you, don't link it first until there's official announcement by Blizzard. We're all waiting for it with bated breath tongue.gif

EDIT:
While we're on the topic, for those that have purchased D3 via Blizzard's Digital Download.

QUOTE
You're stuck with however Blizzard wants to handle the RMAH.

What I mean with the above is if your "CD-Key" is already bound to your Blizzard account you used to buy D3 with.

If your address is US, and you wanna play in Europe, RMAH may not be accessible to you.
Same goes for Malaysia address, and play in Europe server. (check FAQ #4).
(unless they change it).

So, feel free to PM me if you want to change your listing once the RMAH details are revealed smile.gif

DOUBLE EDIT: (Sorry) notworthy.gif
If your address is US and want to change to Malaysia (assuming you are Malaysian la~) you can do so but it's troublesome
as you need to contact Blizzard and provide proof to them.

If you are Malaysian and want to change your Bnet address to US, fat chance unless you can actually provide documentation to Blizz.

* Applies for other region's address changing request.

not ngam meh?

Good source Y.K!
I did not see that blue post before.
But the main official sites have not been updated with anything yet as well regarding this.

I find it weird that they're creating another separate RMAH specifically to cater to AUD only.
EDIT: and to compound the curiousity, why isn't the main announcement changed?
http://us.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/4175551303?page=1
if they wanted to let all SEA/Aussie ppl to know it's official, it'd be a on sticky IMHO.

I'd still advise to wait for them to update the final word on RMAH.

yalor they didn't answer anything to SEA player so far, our RMAH is still in grey area sad.gif

but Aus RMAH is very attracting as there r no fix transaction fees.

anyway i posted question on that thread, hope get some defined answer la
*
uhm correction in your statement Y.K
It is not no fix transaction fee.

It is NO currency conversion fee.

If you use US RMAH (as an Aussie spending AUD)
When you convert AUD to US or convert back, there's a foreign currency conversion fee (depending on how you do it or keep it remain as USD balance (think PayPal), you may not be charged).

QUOTE
You guys have access to an Australian dollar auction house and a US dollar auction house. It will be up to you which you prefer to use. The advantages being that there are no currency conversation fees if you use the AUD auction house - on the other hand the USD auction house will have a larger player population.

EXAMPLE:
If you charge your Blizzard balance with Malaysian credit card:

1) Transaction goes through as USD.
2) Credit card charges x% on top of that.
3) You pay the total amount in RM.

p/s: I'm not aware if there's any credit card that does not charge this fee.

RMAH = base on BattleNet acc address (check FAQ #4 in 1st page)

You can select which region you want to play in from the D3 client (at least that's the way in Beta).

*
They want to play in the US region.
That can be selected from inside the D3 app itself.

EDIT:
btw, that example is not that good anymore, since the update given by Y.K.
Asia ppl may be lumped into US RMAH, so I'll edit the original example of ASIA -> Europe instead.

*
when u buy Digital copy it should've stated "Global version" smile.gif
But the client downloaded can be localized to other languages (German, Korea etc).
The client you dl appear to be US from your description smile.gif

Most important, what's your Battletag (if you want to be added to the roster)?

Less 100-200 ms from US, so group you into ASIA server for now.

Pls PM me if you wanna change.

You need to check in ur Bnet account bro.
EDIT: That's assuming you already created the Battletag, if not yet you have to create coz to play D3 it is necessary.
Or if you access beta, can see from your profile also.

If you don't want to list the Battletag also possible.

OK, I'll just update your name without Battletag for now.
Just PM me if you wanna update the Battletag later.

But just to let you know can create BattleNet account (and the Battletag) first if you want.

Suspect it is due to RMAH but you can wait for their reply to confirm smile.gif
Lag is not that bad 200-300ish and is playable (smooth already I'd say)

1. RMAH
2. latency there will be like 100ms differ between 2 server, which is like 0.1 sec differ. i'll say this is acceptable smile.gif
3. commitee, US commitee are majority english speaking and more interactive comparing to Asia commitee, relatively.

its debateable that with current D3 chat system and AH system, players hardly need/can communicate with each others. i will wan to talk to players hence i go for US server smile.gif
*
If LYN players wanna group up and need voice chat (eg: Ventrilo),
I was offered free Vent usage by Moogle's site (Diablo Expression) desginer.
We can probably hop on there and get into a room with the group to "speak" instead of typing.

Can suggest ideas/alternatives also guys?

my reply on the V4 thread:
QUOTE
We, Malaysians/Singaporeans/Australians, can connect to the different REGIONAL Server to play.

REGIONAL Server = Asia, Europe, US.

All server has your own character list so when you play on 1 your progress is only saved on the server.
Other server won't have that character.

So, if you feel like playing on ASIA, you can.
Then, if you feel like switching to Europe server, you can BUT you will need to start a new char.

Example:
on midnite 15/05/2012
you start play on Asia server - reach Level 30 Wizard
Then Europe server go live, you want to jump to Europe server.
The Europe server character list should be empty.
Create level 1 Barbarian - start over again and reach lv 25 Barbarian.

You can still go back to Asia.
Your Asia Lv 30 Wizard will be there and you can continue.

EDIT:
The only thing which can be limiting you is the access to RMAH.
If you are bound to say US Region RMAH, when you play on Europe server, you cannot use RMAH there.
NOTE: Gold AH is still open to you.

This would still be depending on the final update by Blizzard how they want to handle it (RMAH).

Your address on Bnet account, should only limit which RMAH you can access.
It doesn't impact which server you can play.
