IWK to upgrade Puchong sewage treatment plants

INDAH Water Konsortium Sdn Bhd (IWK) will carry out upgrading work at its two sewage treatment plants in Pusat Bandar Puchong.

The project will increase the plants’ capacity to cope with the increasing amount of waste.

Work at the two plants in Jalan 8 and Taman Seri Puchong will start this month and is expected to be completed in February next year.

IWK communications manager Shahrul Nizam Sulaiman said the Jalan 8 plant, which catered to about 6,000 people, would have an increased capacity to 9,000 after the upgrading work.

“We will install a new pump at both plants,” said Shahrul Nizam.

He added that the main cause of the stench was the illegal dumping of chemical and industrial wastes near the plant.

“Some people also throw clothes and other solid items into the waste pipe, which caused problems in the treatment process and consequently leakage occurs,” he said.

Puchong MCA chairman Datuk Wong Hock Aun said the enhancement project was approved by the Energy, Green Technology and Water Ministry recently.

“We have been attending to the complaints from Pusat Bandar Puchong residents about the foul smell and have highlighted the problem to IWK.


“We hope this upgrade work will tackle the problem and end the residents’ woes,” said Wong.

That sekinchan ikan bakar in bdr putri has bad business for months ady - always empty, i predict it will close down v. soon even without boikot.

I've had fake musang king (prepacked) at Giant Bdr Putri recently, but i've expected it coz it is too cheap to be true.
But at RM24/kg you paid , it should be the real stuff.

Damn the pollution was terrible from the fire, had to close all windows and doors to avoid inhaling black smoke (nearest taman to the fire scene, Wawasan 1)

Great news, love those China big bowl noodles, the portion is big enough, unlike the bowl noodles selling here, not filling my stomach.

Went to watch movie yesterday there, got free popcorn worth RM7.50.

the smaller cinema inside (Hall 2) is very small but the screen damn huge, wrong proportion. Neck pain if seated too front.

The HK movie i watched 9.15pm, is about 50-70% full. Dunno about the rest but definately no crowd la.
Good thing is free parking a.t.m. & lots of them, nearer to my house.

Water pressure has been reducing since Setia Walk starts construction.
According to water pressure gage on my main inlet pipe , it used to be 40 _ (not sure of the units measurement), now it is only 30_.

25% reduced. (@ Wawasan 1 btw)

Dirty water this week? Not notice coz got rocket filter at main.

dropouts have nothing to lose. they dare to try and fail. higher chance of being successful.

luckily the slow water pressure only lasted one nite, now OK liao (wawasan 1).

Before the existence of Setia Walk, it's already slowing down traffic to those wanting to go into Psrn Wawasan.

Hate those sorh@i stupid taxis parking in front of bus stop, causing jams & slow downs.

Anyway, good to see the ramp, it's good.

iirc RM80 about 6 months ago, of coz need booking.

2/3 weeks ago Wawasan 1 the same. My guess is fibre optic finally available at Wawasan.
Yet to check it out though
