Just found out by using a energy comsumption meter that my Astro silver decoder operating wattage is 12.5w on standby mode. If I switch off the main power from 12am to 12pm everyday, I can save approx rm18 a year.

Also, my aztech modem and linsys wifi router are consuming 14.7w on 24/7. Had I switch it off before bedtime and switch it on whenever I need to, I could have save another rm24 a year.

Oh! My C2d pc + 22" LCD + speaker and sub woofer need 160w energy when surfing lowyat net. Playing a youtube video on a new tab will increase the meter reading to 170w
Very interesting toy indeed.

Something similar to the device in the picture but mine is of other brand.

Ipad2 needs 11.2w to charge and to charge it from 0% to 100% requires 0.0380 kw/h.
Thus 0.0380. X Rm0.334 = Rm0.012692 for 9 hours net surfing.

If I use pc to surf net for 9 hours:
170w x 9hours x Rm0.334 / 1000 kw/h = Rm0.511

Energy cost saving is 87.5% for using ipad2 over PC.

DayahKuComeL:

So if I take this package, I can call to any maxis number landline or mobile from my maxis landline? and If I switched my mobile number from DiGi to Maxis, all calls from my mobile will be free too? Will I need to keep paying the line charge for the mobile or will this be included in the package??

when u take the package it will give u a dect phone(fixed line)

From that dect phone,u call any maxis mobile number got allocated free minutes every month depends on package.
lets say package 10mbps the free calls to maxis mobile number is 600 minutes EVERY MONTH.
and from that dect phone u call another maxis fixed line number is UNLIMITED free icon_idea.gif

the package also include free minutes into your own MAXIS POSTPAID ACCOUNT.
lets say u r already a maxis postpaid user (doesnt matter what number, as long as that number is under maxis postpaid plan) there is also allocated free minutes.
ex: 10mbps package entitled u 150 minutes free calls EVERY MONTH into ur postpaid account which can be use to call any number.
