hi, new user here...can i use the 3G yagi directional antenna if the service tat i get from telco is juz normal type and not ur 3g type? also can u pls pm me the price for Huawei UMG1831 also why does the other guys here says UMG1831 HSPA+ 21.6Mbps is there any UMG1831 without 21.6Mbps?

you can use 3g yagi antenna ... it will boose the 2100Mhz frequency .. this is normal malaysia type 3g signal ..
i bought 1 umg1831 and it's a great HSPA+ modem .. I can get 8mbps with 3g yagi ..
some claim that UMG1831 can be flash to 28Mbps but not stable, so better use stock 21Mbps ..

the wonderful phrase by dayat to describe malaysia 3g: "this is normal malaysia type 3g signal " really speak all simply with 1 sentence.

but u have to make sure u r subscribing to telco 3G plan to use 3G, it won't be say using gsm now then can use 3g device to get 3g connectivity. the simcard by telco rule it all.

UMG1831 is work in 21.6Mbps max, its original firmware allow up to that only. some UMG1831 selling out there with claiming 28.8Mbps was flashed with huawei K4505 firmware by the dealer or supplier, not using UMG1831 original firmware. Flashing with other modem firmware is no good. and the IMEI number of UMG1831 is destroyed by that action.

anyway, Huawei 1 series modem (E1xx) actually are slowly phased out by huawei, going fully replaced by 3 series (E3xx) modem. We can see huawei seems no more new product of E1xx but more new product of E3xx. 3 series modem is better than 1 series modem, so i also decided not carry 1831 ready stock for retail sale, all replaced by E367. but still can arrange for trade bulk purchase (one person buy several units at one time) of UMG1831 if anyone still interested. One unit purchase also can be arranged if really needed.
