Hi, I recently downloaded some mp4 movies. But these movies plays both languages at the same time e.g. it plays both Mandarin and Cantonese at the same time. How do I turn off a particular language?

I used Media Player Classic & tried playing it via mono sound (turn off one side of the speaker) because some guide online mentioned that normally the right side speaker plays Cantonese while the left plays Mandarin. But for my case, even this doesn't work.

I went to the Audio Language option to try to disable one language, that doesn't work either.

Anyone here knows how to configure this? Thanks in advance.

How should I set it or configure it? I've tried stream to either left or right already. But it doesn't work, it still plays both languages.

When I hover to Audio, I had 2 only choices; "Options..." or "Audio"

Clicking on Audio made no difference.

I've tried going into Options & configure the Audio Switcher by customising the channel mapping into 1 channel only. But that doesn't work either. So basically turning the audio into mono doesn't work.

The file is in mp4 btw if that helps.

Sounds like old VideoCD/MPEG1 files converted to MP4 format. Or are those files in original MPEG1 format (file extension *.MPG, *.MPEG, *.DAT & *.MP1)? unsure.gif

For VideoCD/MPEG-1 formats, ye olde Cyberlink VCD PowerPlayer can switch to either audio channels (as mono audio to both left and right speakers). That software was designed to cater for these (pseudo) "dual audio" VideoCDs. As for newer codecs, try Combined Community Codec Pack which contains FFDShow and Media Player Classic Home Cinema. You can configure the audio mixer in FFDshow's Audio decoder to swap, mix or redirect channels. You can also create profiles and presets, easily accessible when right clicking the FFDShow Audio icon in the System Tray. This is how my menu looks like... cool.gif

It's a MPEG-4 Media File (.mp4) file.

I have CCCP, and also MPC Home Cinema. My FFDShow Audio menu looks exactly like yours. But I still couldn't figure how to stop the Mandarin & play Canto only. I do know how to switch the audio channels to left, right or center. But the issue is, even with mono audio, it's still dual language.
