Hi guys...

I'm a newbie n looking to get my first rc drifter. Planning to start simple with a Takara tomy drift pack or Tamiya TT-01. Anyone knows where I can actually find any in kelang valley area? Many thanks

Depending on your future needs, I'd skip both the Takara Tomy and the TT-01.

The TT-01 is a very dated chassis, and would require serious upgrades to get it into a good drifter. You would need a metal center drive shaft, ball bearings, adjustable toe, oil filled shocks and drift tires. That being said, it is still a decent platform to get started. You can convert it to be a speedrun car, or a rally car with some mods. The TT-01 can be gotten for ~RM540 excluding the mods I've mentioned. If you can find, the TT-01D would be a better option, as it already comes with oil-filled shocks as well as ball bearings and the adjustable toe. Bear in mind that the TT-01 and the TT-01D are kits, and requires assembling.

Alternatively, you could get the HSP Flying Fish drift car. It does have an aluminium center drive shaft in place, but no ball bearing. It does have oil filled shocks though. The HSP can also be a decent speedrun car and a rally car. This can be obtained for ~RM350 as well.

Or, if you want a strict drift-only car, get the TEH-R31, which is essentially a OTA-R31 clone. Be wary of plastic quality though, as it is known to be very brittle. I usually dont encourage the purchase of clones, but for ~Rm350, there's little to go wrong.

Do ask more questions if you need to. icon_rolleyes.gif

If budget that high, skip hobbyking, get Thunder Tiger, Traxxas, HPI, Kyosho better.
