Wish they had a way to tell fake GBA games too, bought Minish Cap thinking it was ori, couldn't save my game Q_Q, Miyamoto heard my plea and gave 3DS ambassadors Minish Cap, Everything went better than expected.

Actually GBA games is very easy to tell whether it's ori or fake, just have to look at the board on top of the cart pins. <Nintendo> is printed on it if it's ori, otherwise it's fake.

I doubt even original GBA catridges can save now since the battery back up inside should be dead by now... try if you can change the back up battery inside the catridge and see if you can save or not.
I bought Tales of Phantasia GBA once ( I'm sure not original considering the price and the packaging ) and it can save properly until the battery went dead... sleep.gif

FYI only fake cartridge use battery. Original GBA cartridge has a integrated in-build chip for the save game that last until is rot.

All my games can still save sleep.gif

Earlier games do use battery to save though, my Castlevania COM is but the battery is still functioning well. In fact all my original games using batteries still can save, some dated as early as late 80s. Only 1 game that has failed to save so far but the battery had been replaced and works again since then, it's a SFC game.

How about 3DS games? Are there any fakes around, I'm afraid to buy at certain shops, fearing it might be fake.

Btw, why some games come in a paper box instead of plastic ones?
