My iPhone 3GS US set, upgraded to 5.1.1, jailbroken and unlocked! PWND!!

No reason to be scared of a locked set, as usual!

Must use sn0wbreeze 2.9.5, go to advanced setting, general , select hacktivate. Use the new ipsw to be restored using iTunes.

I am using the 3GS old bootrom. I am glad to report that I have successfully downgraded my BB to 5.13.04! Initially I couldn't downgrade, but realized it was because I jailbreak earlier using sn0wbreeze. I had to re-jailbreak using redsn0w, options "Install Cydia" and "Downgrade baseband", that solves the problem!!

Now testing the full capability of my GPS. So far so good ....

Just an update, i also managed to downgrade my wife's iPhone 3GS, new bootrom to BB 5.13.04 as well!!

This serial looks older than my serial, so i guess should be the old bootrom lar. Any I hv managed to downgrade both old and new bootrom. Before the downgrade, we were both on iOS 5.1.1 with BB 6.15.00, jailbreak using sn0wbreeze. What i did was just do a simple restore to stock 5.1.1 using iTunes, then jailbreak again using redsn0w

My serial is 88940.... which is the old bootrom. No issues either with old or new bootrom, as long as you are having BB 6.15.00, you can use the latest redsn0w to downgrade.

If you hv backed up to iTunes successfully (transfer purchase from ur iPhone to iTunes), then yes, you can restore ur apps from iTunes, along with all the game save and system settings. Errr ..... assuming all ur apps are legally bought right?

Currently still can upgrade to 5.1.1, Apple has not officially released iOS 6, except for the beta pack.

Don't think there will b such thing. Unless u install a lot of junk that might make the phone hang or slow down. Otherwise jailbreaking does not affect the carrier

Sometimes it could be the cable problem as well. I tried using el-cheapo iPhone USB cable, always keep on stuck. When I use back the original Apple USB cable, then problem solved. good luck!

Try AppInfo from the BigBoss repository. It tells you which tweaks you downloaded from Cydia. Just write them down and install them again after you JB
