not GSM version for malaysia set?

I got so confused with the answers. Apparently two answers were given.
Anyway I used iPhone5,2_6.1_10B143_Restore.ipsw; and got bounced back with error 3194. Then I changed the hosts file (C:\windows\system32\drivers\hosts) I got to restore the phone.

So still, until now, what is the real answer, really?

Identifying features

iPhone 5
The model number on the back cover is:
A1428 on the iPhone 5 (GSM model)
A1429 on the iPhone 5 (GSM and CDMA model)
A1442 on the iPhone 5 (CDMA model, China)
*
A1429 came with two models, CDMA and GSM.
After checking my last 4 characters of serial number with iLookup,
the result returned as;
Model No: A1429 (EMC 2610*)
Model ID: iPhone5,1

So currently I have had installed iPhone5,2 into my phone. What can happen?

How to differentiate every iPhone 5 model
The problem is, A1429 has got 2 models. Hence I got confused when some said 5,1 and some supported 5,2.
Try to read the post above your reply, I checked with the source.

Wow, mine same as yours 5,1. Maybe both quite compatible huh...

LOL so now I got confused. Should I download the iPhone5,1 and restore it, or just leave it. Don't know what's the consequence as this is my first.

Maybe try search the previous 6.0.2 or 6.0.1 ipsw file which auto downloaded by the itunes. I'll try to check later during el clasico in 4 hrs time... Lol

Mine came with 6.0.1 and updated to 6.0.2 OTA. So... No ipsw file sad.gif
Please check and clarify! notworthy.gif

Thanks for the clarification.
Did you manage to get through with iPhone5,2 then?

During restoration of the iPhone5,2 I had error 3194 (This device isn't eligible for the requested build), which was fixed by changing hosts entry.
I did not try iPhone5,1 so it's nice to know your experience.

EDIT: And no problem with my phone signal, wifi, whatsoever so far. hmm.gif
