Someone did mention that Apple supposedly can detect but if you do a fresh restore, it wipes everything. All the system files are in their sandbox and the only way I can think of is if Apple runs Tinyumbrella on your iPhone and request SHSH from Cydia. Now why would Apple want to do that?

There are thousands and almost all forummers here who have jailbroken, then do a fresh restore and were able to claim warranty. So I wouldn't worry so much about warranty issue.

Means that Cydia has your SHSH but it has not been loaded into their database. Most cases this will clear in the next couple of weeks but if it doesn't clear, then I'd suggest you use TinyUmbrella and save the SHSH locally (in your computer).

Update or do a fresh restore to 5.1.1, absinthe only works on 5.1.1

SAM exploit were closed by Apple 3-4 days after it came out so no unlock via SAM anymore.

Just respring. Reboot sometimes will not work. Respring via SBSettings usually will solve the issue.

Download TinyUmbrella and you can save the 5.1.1 SHSH to your local harddrive. Do it soon before Apple releases the next firmware. At least you will be able to downgrade (in the future should you want to) to a jailbreakable 5.1.1

Not necessarily. It depends on what baseband version you have. If you have a baseband version that can be unlocked, then yes, you will need to jailbreak it to get it unlocked via ultrasn0w. Otherwise, you can always use those Sim solution like Gevey R-Sim etc etc. If you are using AT&T, you can also contact @WimpyKid as he provides a permanent unlock solution which will cost you (400 and above I think).

I see no reason to go into DFU mode unless you are trying to restore to a custom firmware. If it is a factory unlocked, pressing Shift + Restore should suffice.

Haven't been visiting this thread for a while, Been a bit busy with work. Anyway, iFaith does not work with A5 chip. Check out also iClarified.com as they have come out with guides on how to jailbreak the iOS6 TETHERED via redsn0w.

WimpyKid, actually I am getting a bit bored with the iPhone. Was thinking the other day of getting the SIII but I think I'm going to try the Lumia 920 once it is released in 3-4 weeks. The wireless charging and the NFC technology is quite interesting.

You cannot use other people's blobs. It won't work. The blobs are unique for each iPhone so if you want to do anything with your iphone, then it will have to have it's own blobs.

Check your host file. Remove or put a hash (#) in front of any line that says gs.apple.com

That means you have no 5.1.1 blobs saved. So you cannot downgrade. iFaith does not work with A5 chips so you cannot use it with the 4s so basically, you are stuck with 6.0.1

For the iPhone 4 maybe tethered but not for the 4s, no jailbreak yet for the 4s ...
