Hopefully by the time we have LTE, at least 3G coverage IS available anywhere within Malaysia but all the carriers. Travelling on PLUS without a decent connection speed can be rather boring.

There is no best rom now, depends on your preference. If GB, then go for checkrom if you want stability and not that much theming. If ICS, go for hydrogenicsif you dare to take the plunge into AOSP world or you can go for sammy based ones like wanamlite.

I'm using Wanam.. was on Omega, Litening, CM9 and Hydrog3n previously.. And think DXLP9 is the best for me.. your case might differ though..
