Suggest you dont if you need extweaks like app, you gotta pay RM6 for the full version of neak confiurator, lite version cant do anything like gpu UV/UC/OC and all the smoothscaling and cpu step things
*
Yeah, the only thing pulling me back.

But guess I don't actually need such apps, if the kernel is awesome @ stock. Then can just apply uv, and use lulzactive app since I used to use lulzactive on NEAK.

Hmm will consider later tonight when I have the time tongue.gif

You guys should try this, this is an aosp rom with lots of features.
Seems to put aokp roms to shame.

You have the choice to choose tablet UI, sense multitasking, also the option to off lots of system sounds such as camera. Best of all, cn remove lock screen vibration.
boot logo much nicer than silly unicorn.

In short, this rom more features than hydrogen.
Tried this because spider from checkrom forum recomend it.
*
Yea that one seems interesting, by last I followed it was very much in development stages, still not too stable or complete or something like that?

I have been using their from for some time now since v7 and now I'm on v10 since 29 April. Its a VERY stable ROM. using it with abyss 1.5 and am really satisfies with the performance and battery life!!! thumbup.gif

Added on May 6, 2012, 10:44 am
Its not the ROM but kernel. As far as I know, both abyss and siyah supports this in their kernel menu, and I think for.siyah it might be in extweaks or in the kernel menu as well. biggrin.gif
*
Hmm must have developed since I first saw it appear. Might give it a go when I get the time xD

Siyah 3.2 b8 is out, according to changelog there's a '18-steps as default', does that mean cpu freq 18 steps?  shocking.gif
*
Yup lol. 18 glorious steps to confuse you if you plan to UV tongue.gif

On the other hand, I'm testing NEAK for a while tongue.gif

S2 is still a capable phone. I doubt it will be obselete this year.
next year maybe.
*
For all intents and purposes, the S2 will be very much a decent phone for another year.

But he was referring to the development side of it I believe. If developers (esp the good ones) hop over to S3, I would proly follow likewise. Hard to not have regular flashes and what nots once you've gotten used to doing it tongue.gif

QUOTE(gm0023 @ May 7 2012, 01:15 PM)
agreed. The phone can still be decent for another year. Better to save the money for the next generation but not an S3. Personally, I think S3 is still almost the same like S2. would look forward for more features in the next gen.
*
QUOTE(soulseeker6187 @ May 7 2012, 01:31 PM)
yes. i also think many developer will jumpship.
but as long as decent developer (CM team) this phone still rocks.
im certain to skip S3. maybe wait for note2 or next nexus.
*
yeah if s2 to next gen, sure can experience big jump thumbup.gif

QUOTE(antt00 @ May 7 2012, 02:00 PM)
There would still be developers around. The problem is new rom from samsung will be getting less and less so no point to update rom. Can only rely on AOSP/AOKP for your flashing fixes.  smile.gif
*
Yalo, gonna be limited. Plus scared the better kernel guys run off to s3 too

I'm on hydrogenics too. Lotsa drama recently with Paradoxx jumping the gun and changing his title to "official s2 aokp", only to be rejected in the end. Haters came in and said westcrip's resurrection rom was better etc laugh.gif

Entahla, I'm doing quite fine on hydrogenics, will proly stick with it till I get the time to try other stuff laugh.gif

issit? but if cant bring over my wifi pairings from GB, no wifi direct, and FM radio,
aokp is just a fancy UI change to my and lose some functionality. not so worth already for my case.

most likely will wait for checkrom v7, hope they retain everything in v6, and add the new ics browser,

in the mean time, during weekends can try out other aokp roms for fun :-)
*
Yeah depends on individual, if they can tolerate those missing features. But thought for FM radio can use 3rd party ones? Could be wrong though.

Personally I was very reluctant to even move away from GB. Personally fancy-ness and what nots has nvr been an attraction to me (hence I stayed on TW, no themes, no launchers). But there's something about the whole aokp/aosp thing. Offers a better overall experience, to me at least. Guess looks probably do matter after all. So I'm sticking to it for now laugh.gif

Hmm modemssss. Anyone (from Maxis especially) has comments on LP7 vs LP9? Just curious, generally not too concerned about modems. But ppl do complain they cant hear me recently, and sometimes I don't hear them good as well. Thought clearer lines might help tongue.gif

Edit : Wow finally CR to release ICS huh. Spent so much time waiting b4 I hopped over to hydrogen. And used hydrogen for so long, baru they keluar tongue.gif

for me LP7 and LP9 almost the same didn't notice much different. Both are very good. Can give me mostly green signal in my area. I've tried both on Maxis and Umobile.
*
Cool, thanks for the feedback smile.gif

Modems can switch to and fro one right. Hmm proly will just flash LP9 tonight for the heck of it. Flash addict ni sweat.gif
