My bro from S'pore bought this (not sure if it is the same brand): http://www.kiramek.com/english/products/sciborg/TSL20.html

This is an auto-lock module for Prius Aqua (Prius c). No need re-wiring. Just plug in to the OBD port. Since there is a branch out port, this thing can be hidden and an OBD port still exist, just if you are afraid if UMW void your warranty. Our this unplug when send for servicing...
Do u know how much this TSL20 thing costs?

See my response in red.

I really don't plan to get married until 30. Wants to fully concentrate on career first. Definitely won't change car for minimum 3 years if I buy Prius.

Is it still a really bad idea to buy? I appreciate any advice from taikor that has gone through the trials and tribulation in life.  nod.gif

It seems u hv already pretty much made up ur mind so y still ask for advice? U shd instead let all the pc taikos cont w pc talk.

Hi all PC bros...I'll get my PC in 2 weeks' time except it'll be a USED PC :-).

My initial plan was to get more views on this car and only book one next yr. However, few days before Raya I spotted an online ad for a 2 mths+ old PC with an attractive price. I arranged for a test drive and decided to take it since the condition is as good as new.

Hi skng74,

Wow.. there is 2nd hand PC so fast. How much u got it for ?
*
I had the same reaction too when i saw the ad. The seller is a car fanatic and changes car on avg every 6mths.

He sold to me for 81k. He sd his intention was to ask for 86k but his sales agent advertised the wrong price. However, he was kind enough to honour the wrong price. The only downside is it already has 9000km clocked in 3mths. shocking.gif

wow discount of RM16000 for 9000km . I think its worth it. Welcome to the club ya. What colour is ur PC ?
Thanks bro. Silver is the colour. I hope I can still say it is worth it after driving it. hmm.gif

QUOTE(aragongon @ Aug 25 2012, 10:51 AM)
That is serious a good deal! ! Congrats!

I do wish i found this kind of kang dao!

Your PC seller...  drool.gif Every km he drove, he lost almost RM2. Drop RM16k in 2 months...  cool2.gif
*
For a car player like my seller, i don't think he worries too much about his losses. Btw, I saw another 2-mth old PC (4500km) up for sale in Pg with asking price of 93k.

from what i know even new car if want to sale 1 day after u drive the price will drop 10k from the purcahse price if sell to car dealer .. bro for safety go to toyota service center ask for the PC service record ..and before u take the car bring it to SC also for check up .. afraid the owner do something with the car eg: change audio player or install auto lock moduler .. those will void ur PC warranty .. without warranty at least have to get discount 30k ..  smile.gif
*
Thanks for ur advice bro keanutan. I've done some checking myself...the audio player is definitely ori...sure no auto lock moduler coz auto lock didnt engage during my test drive. Seller has given me all the service records, i.e. 1st 1k and 5k.

Anything else I should pay attn to please let me know. hmm.gif

I just got my PC fix with TRD back bumper.Cost me RM 450 inclusive paint work.Mine is Lime Pearl White color but somehow can see the color difference quite significant between the bumper and the original paint.I think pearl white is difficult to match with the original. But never mind,at least i can do something about the ori back bumper.
*
If only back bumper done, wudn't the car look "back heavy" from the side view?

Err...actually mine is a used PC, that's why I mentioned "new" biggrin.gif. So it is the seller who is generous in giving me the wax&polish foc. rclxm9.gif

Waiting is good then you'll enjoy it even more. thumbup.gif

You can get the best Ecoscore by driving on ev mode from the start up to 60km/hr, from there you accelerate. The combined score should be around 88 to 94.

That would only be possible if u're driving on flat roads or downhill roads otherwise the car will really crawl up to speed on slopey roads, right? I find that EV mode is very sensitive to the littlest spike in acceleration.

There is no problem moving uphill if the battery is sufficiently charged, i.e. around 4 bars

Yes I tried but the acceleration needs to be very gentle and u hope there's no one behind u. blush.gif

You will feel under power if your acceleration is slow. You can actually do a fast acceleration, you will gain the power because the car is adapting to your driving style
*
If I apply fast acceleration then the EV will turn off and petrol engine will kick in, so how to maintain EV until 60km/h? I tried EV mode but I need to be very gentle on the pedal otherwise the EV mode will be deactivated. Unless my EV mode is faulty or something.

my ev mode allow me to sloowwwly accel until about 49 kmh then it off liao.

but when i driving and reach around 60+, i can let go accelerator then step a *little* bit and it will go EV but the speed will drop slowly. i think this call glide...

if uphill most of the time wont have EV cos too taxing.
*
Yes that's exactly my situation too. Cool, then at least I know my car behaviour is normal. I'm just concerned since I "inherited" the car from someone else. smile.gif

You are right. Even at 100km/hr, I find it difficult to control the car when applying emergency brake. I have stopped speeding since I settled 7 tickets (with 30% discount) several years ago. Nowaday, I only drive at 90 - 100 km/hr. No more ticket since then.
*
I think our PC bros are just curious to find out how fast can it go :-). Personally, I won't try because you guys have tried it and I trust what your claims and also too afraid to even run up to that kinda speed. shocking.gif

timeonce, the link to the Prius c owner's manual has been changed. Here's the correct link. You might want to update the first page.
