Hi all, would like to check what grade of engine oil do you all use for your PC? Any difference in FC when you use W20 or W30 oil?

QUOTE(lmsf4ever @ Jul 23 2012, 05:02 PM) beside it is big job removing the whole front bumper, and it also limited space to put the horn set (BM horn usually got 2), need attach special bracket to hold 2 horn... Don't quite get it what you mean need special bracket to hold 2 horn, just remove existing horn, sure will have bracket there already, then put additional bracket on the existing one and add twin tone horn. I'm not sure how much space there is though, I have book my pearl white and will be getting it end Sep, trying to find out more stuff prior to collecting car. |

QUOTE(peterscm @ Jul 23 2012, 11:33 PM) no DIY. installed at accessories shop. not sure thick or not but cannot put side by side as it will block and prevent the bumper being installed back properly. Sounds real hard, how much the installer charge you for that? Remove the whole bumper, have supervise closely to prevent scratches being done to our car paint. |

How's the cabin noise of the car when travelling around 110kph? Also how noisy it is on cement road along Jasin to Melaka?
Anyone try sound proofing their Prius C? Added on July 24, 2012, 12:34 pm QUOTE(Salamander @ Jul 24 2012, 12:16 PM) It's pretty easy once you know which screws/bolts/grommets/etc to remove. Here's some diagrams to help with removal of the bumper if you ever choose to diy it. Quite true, when met a high level thief, no matter what lock also useless. So far any one heard of Prius being stolen?@jonnyl: As for car security, I'm a little iffy on it in general. There's even a keyless BMW being stolen recently but then again that is a BMW and this is a Prius C, don't know if there is a high demand for pc in black market lol. If there is a lock out there, be aware that there is a guy who knows how to unlock it. Then again you can always deter them by putting a ridiculous amount of things to unlock, or something that just mentally psyches them out. I guess for me immobilizer is enough, if someone really wanted to break into/steal it they (most probably) could, or they could just put the whole car on a lorry lol. In general it only stops low level thieves but it does provide us with peace of mind. If possible I selectively park whenever I can cos these low lifes even go as low as stealing your tire valve caps! For me the perfect security would be a badass dog living in my car lol. If they do break in though I rather they steal something inside the car than the car itself, cos I love this car Sorry for sounding negative overall but that was just my 2 cents. I don't have any plans to add anything on top unless it's really proven but I would probably think about installing some kind of car beacon locator in case the car did get stolen and I want to pay them a visit. QUOTE(conqu3ror @ Jul 24 2012, 01:55 PM) Don't really think you need extra sound proof for Prius C, as even in 150km/h it feel quite also. Unless you very particular. Currently driving matrix, hope it will be less noisy than my current car I guess Prius without the original key remote is worthless. Don't thing is easy to get a duplicate. These day criminal don't steal, the rob you from house or petrol station. So whatever lock also useless. |

Actually already test drive twice and book, coming end sept. It is encourage you to test drive Prius C then decide whether you like it or not. Be remind of the long waiting period for it. Just wish to find out more before I smell it |

QUOTE(lemonguy79 @ Jul 24 2012, 03:31 PM) Do you means pedal lock or steering lock? I only lock when i'm away from my car so to block the airbag or not is not an issues unless you means pedal lock then im not sure. I mean pedal lock sorry While searching for airbag location, happen to find this article, prius caught fire after crash in US. http://boronextrication.com/tag/toyota/ From Australia toyota website below, it shows that there is an airbag at the knee area of driver side, not sure MY version have that airbag or not. http://www.toyota.com.au/prius-c/features/...ven-srs-airbags This post has been edited by deckbuild: Jul 24 2012, 05:46 PM |

QUOTE(lencent @ Jul 24 2012, 08:08 PM) tested the car last saturday. dont really like the car interior, especially the original HU. the car pickup is slow, but i understand that it is a hybrid car, not some fancy sport car. the engine is really loud when it picking up in the cabin which is really irritating. didnt manage to try cornering as the test drive is only a short stretch of straight road. one thing i really like is the smart entry! no need to press any button to unlock the car door! there is a sensor behind the door handle to detect your hand to unlock the car! overall impression, it's a good car but the price tag is not justifiable IMO Hybrid car is either like it or leave it sort of car, you need to be a tree hugger or someone who like to stretch your dollar to the limit or really interested in the technology. |

QUOTE(engah @ Jul 25 2012, 02:31 PM) Comparing the price, the max torque, safety features: Altis G is 2.0 or 1.8?PC 97K, 169Nm, with stability control, traction control, 7 airbags Vios TRD 92K, 141Nm, kosong + 2 airbags Altis G 123K, 173Nm, kosong + 2 airbags =========================== Relatively speaking, the price is justifiable. I know it is still expensive compared to other countries. The price for a full specs PC in Japan is about 2.5million yen, or RM 102k. Even that, they only have 6 airbags. A basic unit costs 1.69million yen, or RM 68k with only 2 airbags, but without other features. I know many people here are more happy to pay for leather seat, DVD, camera, sports rim, bodykit. Nevermind if the car has no good safety features because they are intangible. That is why the new Camry 2.5 has no stability control and yet probably will be selling like hot cakes..... |

QUOTE(Salamander @ Jul 25 2012, 10:39 PM) I don't think it would be possible unless that person on the outside had the spare key fob, unless I misunderstood your question. Do you mean: Driver and key in car, just want to know car jackers able to open from outside after I have lock the doors from inside.1) key and driver are both inside 2) driver locks door from inside 3) someone from the outside tries to unlock the door (using another spare key fob or what? or just trying to unlock by holding the handle?) Is anyone missing any caps that hold the carpet material on the back trunk door? I just looked at mine and I'm missing one In any case it isn't doing much harm, I just hate visually looking at a missing piece... and if I am up to it I will probably go so far as making an epoxy mold out of one of the caps heh. Added on July 25, 2012, 11:54 pm QUOTE(sbsoo111 @ Jul 25 2012, 11:08 PM) want to report you guys after my first service, i drove 280KM on first 2 bar, and today left half tank, accumulated 480km... meaning to say, the petrol meter also not accurate, i thot i can get 140km on each bar, which suppose i get 700km for half tank The petrol tank is not perfect rectangular shape that's why unable to use this method.today i achieved 30km/l for 53km drive. QUOTE(conqu3ror @ Jul 26 2012, 10:11 AM) Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Agree with your first sentence. Of coz Lexus CT200h look better then Prius C, but problem is the price. I guess you are a Honda Hybrid fans which we not deny it had very good interior design but no match with the Hybrid technology compare Toyota. Yes, Priuc C interior design is suck. Overall I'm very happy with Prius C from inside to outside, as for Hybrid cars, I prefer the Prius Gen 4 to the Lexus CT200h, but end of the day, a person's meat is another person's poison. |

QUOTE(emfadz @ Jul 27 2012, 08:27 AM) Hi guys, i just received a call from my SA saying that My wife's car will arrive next 1-2 week. It is in aquA mica in color. My plans for this car are: For the body kit, what is the different btw TRD and replica? Complete same or different design? Does Rexxstyling have other bodykit?1. Change the rim to a better looking rim and lighter. Im planning to bring the luggage weight scale to the rim shop. - is it true that lighter rims are better in term of FC? - changing the rIm will void the warranty? 2. Go for tinting - this is normal i guess 3. Called rexxstyling to install trd bodykit 3k for replica and 4.5k for original - any issue to go for the replica trd bodykit? 4. Should i buy the 3k navigation from toyota or any other aftermarket navi/player? Hopefully you guys can guide me on this. Light weight rim will definitely save fuel due to lower rotating mass, but I'm not sure will it affect the regen braking, what size rim do you intend to change to? Add on: I think the rear skirt will block the reverse sensor. This post has been edited by deckbuild: Jul 27 2012, 09:53 AM |

QUOTE(emfadz @ Jul 27 2012, 10:32 AM) Bro deckbuild, I'm interested, I have checked with the AD the reverse sensor will be install locally, if they install the sensor at the end of the rear bumper, then there won't be any blocking of the rear spoilerMost probably i will go with 15" as well. But if i can find 16" whicg is lighter than the std, then its ok The trd replica is exactly the same As for rims, I think best not to change, my current matrix, after changing rim to a bigger size, due weight difference, my original suspension wear off very fast. Sometimes rim too light will also affect the suspension and ride but definitely give better fuel economy, but again I'm not sure light weight rim will have effect on the regen braking or not until someone can prove it. |

QUOTE(verticalforce @ Jul 27 2012, 11:07 AM) Well.. not really. I paid RM 200/month for gym before when I could just run outside. RM1k/month is not really a lot. If I get this car I will probably have to discontinue the gym If you don't have a house loan to service now, I think it will be alright, of course your current daily expenses should not be on the high side, else it's not worth to scrimp on other thing just for this car.9 years made sense since car interest is low and it's a liability anyway... might as well just stretch it... besides my salary will prob increase in the next 5 years since I am still very young. (i am in a professional job, not sales) Like I said if I don't get this car I will get Preve... which if you include extra fuel costs will prob works out almost the same. Alternative is to drive my current persona which im paying RM500 per month + refuelling twice per week... really terrible FC.. |
