I'm at service centre now
Can anyone tell me how autolock function?
I will tell them later regarding this

*
AutoLock toggle ON/OFF activation has four options :
1. Vehicle Speed-Link when activated ON allows ALL the doors to be Automatically Lock when the car is moving above 20km/h.
2. Shift out from Park P gear position link when activated ON will AutoLock ALL doors.
3. Shift into Park P gear position link when activated ON will Unlock ALL doors.
4. Opening of Driver Door link when activated ON will Unlock ALL doors.

However, this Toyota AutoLock Door systems has no mention of safety auto door Unlock after emergency situation detected like collision impact, airbags deployed, vehicle overturned, ...

Changing setting starts with
1. Close All doors
2. Power ON - this could mean one press or two presses on the Start button, or and also step on the Brake pedal first...???
3. MID should show "Power ON"
4. Move the gear into P or N accordingly
5. Press and hold a Door Lock/Unlock button on the driver's door for 5 seconds (exactly 5 sec or at least 5 sec ?) The Door Lock/Unlock button to press and hold would depend on the option being adjusted.

6. If the toggle setting is accepted, the car will respond by locking/unlocking the doors to confirm. If not, turn off the car and try again. sad.gif

HDCool, you had been charged the "standard" 4Liters of engine oil. Comparing with Beck_Ken, it was an extra 0.6 liters of TG Mineral Oil @ 1.88/0.1 each = RM11.28 extra.

Prius C need about 3.4 to 3.9 Liters.

I think pearl white may reflect some other colors at specific angles (I could be mistaken), but I think the other guys here can elaborate more on it. I think someone a few posts back actually described it I can't remember who it was.
*
It was Post #563

"Toyota Colour Code 082 is called MoonGlow or Lime White Pearl or Pearl White. It is different from Super White 040 or Metallic White which are mainly a single layer of paint.

MoonGlow Pearl White has a base of solid white gloss paint, then added a thin layer mix of pearly flake elements that reflects tiny multicolour speckles of light - green, red, pink, yellow, etc... Different batch mix of this second layer and sprayer gun delivery ratio would create slightly different effects - like how no two pearls are created totally alike in the oyster. Then the usual top coat of clear acrylic to smoothen and protects the paint layers. The final result is a very beautiful glistening white car. biggrin.gif

Hence MoonGlow Pearl White colour is very difficult to re-match the original shimmery effect look and greenish lime colour hue property when you need to touch up or respray, especially accident repairs. Mostly would turn out to be slightly more yellowish hue or creamy white than the original very white base. Anyway all whites have always been difficult to match in repair jobs because a slight variation is more easier to be noticed compared to other colour shades. It is most obvious when it is the door or side panels. But thankfully not many people actually look closely ...

Locally UMW charges extra RM800 for this colour option, while in other countries it is priced the same with other metallic colour options AFAIK."

I've finally received my car today, sorry for the late reply cos I was driving it around since earlier  rclxm9.gif
Also I found out the toyota tinting takes something like 60 days to cure and you shouldn't roll the windows down for a week or whatever it was. (I still gotta re-read everything).
Another thing I found out was that the dvd-avn used malsing map dated from 2010 year.
I found the tow screw in thingy on the passenger side floor.
I had to pump the tires as for some reason the front left tire was quite deflated.
I think I have to remind the SA about the tinting warranty as it was not fully filled out/signed.
There was quite a bit of dirt on my car? Like grimey dried water on the right side of the windshield heh, not sure what that was about, not to mention the car itself was slightly dusty. I will be taking it for coating soon (gzox).

@NEbulaSurfer, @chrymnd
You should keep up with your SA because when I waited for a month for mine to contact me they didn't, and I had a feeling soon enough that I was going to end up on the 2nd shipment (which I did) but finally it came in. My SA said they had their hands full too so I think they had other stuff to contend with, but each time I would ask they seemed a little blur at times about the arrival date so I would keep inquiring persistently. I have a feeling I got pushed down the queue or something (I ordered beginning of March) because apparently there are already around 30 here in kk? I have only seen one though. chrymnd what color did you order? NEbulaSurfer wow, quite a long time, where are you and what color did you choose? I do seriously say even with the excrutiatingly painful waiting time that feels like someone slowly pricking away at fresh scab nerve endings with a needle it was worth it. I finally felt the release of tension and drove around for an hour or two immediately after getting the car off the lot, ate some delicious bakuteh, bought some jackpot tickets, and finished off with ice cream hehe. Try asking your SA where in the waiting list or shipment you are in, not sure if it would work but it's worth a try just to ask. I think kk people are going to love this car.

@mkhor7
Thanks buddy!

thumbup.gif Congratulations that the exciting PriusC is yours now! rclxms.gif

The thingy under my front passenger seat is the jack to change tyre. My small towing eyelet is in the toolbag kept in the boot.
There is just a small space under the driver's seat to squeeze in a compact sub-woofer.
My driver seat back has no pocket, only the passenger seat back has the pocket.

Can your doors autolock?

any difference of your pearl white with other white cars?
*
Please see Post#725

Side by side with Super White or other plain solid white coloured cars, Toyota Lime White Pearl colour is more beautiful and has some character. If you are close to the car and at an angle to catch the sun reflection, you will see tiny glistening specks of lime green, pink, yellow, etc.

If you choose Metallic Blue this would give the car a different "air".

wow nice bro. how come so ex compare to beck_ken which 1st service is RM68.. erm.. wonder if toyota want to earn more now
*
Beck_ken RM68 was for 2nd 5000km service oil change. You had this posted on Page 1.

PriusC engine oil capacity according to the manual is
3.4 Liter without filter change
3.7 Liter if change oil filter too.

UMW charges RM1.88 per 0.1Liter of Toyota mineral oil.

Guys, just out of curiosity.....What is actually Prius C price before gov tax exemption?

QUOTE(Henry1977 @ May 16 2012, 04:32 PM)
Note: Prius C 1.5 : total tax exemption RM97,146.
Note: Prius 1.8 Luxury : Total Tax Exemption RM134,500.

If no Tax Exemption :
Prius C 1.5 = current Price RM97,000. + Tax 97,146. = (RM194,146)
Prius 1.8 Luxury = current price RM145,500. + Tax 134,500. = (RM280,000)

*
If no govt tax exemption, and local UMW takes higher margin, PriusC could easily be priced at over RM200K !!!!

Some previously posted details:
Our Prius C is imported from Toyota Motor Asia Pacific Pte Ltd with AP granted to OTOMOBIL SEJAHTERA SDN BHD, a subsidiary of UMW.
On the customs declaration form, FOB cost is RM66,198.43 plus Freight RM3,009.69and insurance RM58.88. 10% Sales Tax of RM6,926.70 is payable while Import and Excise duties are exempted.
Total cost is RM76,193.70 at Port Klang. UMW has to add local distribution and marketing costs. Selling Price is RM93,967 (OTR is RM97,000). It seems the margin for Prius C could be below 18% ! (Initially PriusC was to be RM103900 at almost 30% margin for UMW. Maybe with Honda due to release Jazz hybrid, UMW top gun decided to just earn 18% at OTR RM97k for PriusC to be competitive here. This strategy also helps to draw customers to the much higher priced Prius.)

If no exemptions, 30% Import Duty is RM20,780.10 , 75% Excise Duty is RM67,535.33 and then 10% Sales tax is RM15,758.24 for this CBU car! Total Exemption = RM97,146.97!

Full CBU Japan except for local Reverse Sensors and Alarm systems with cabin motion sensors, and the stick-on number plates.
Audio headunit is oem from Pioneer DEH-M8247ZT a 2009 model with 4x40W output and value about RM220 online.

mean when they 1st launch Prius at Rm170, it has 50% tax exemption? now up to 100% tax exemption? i thk our gov wont so stupid, although selling price now at RM140k, it should have tax include in RM140k. haha! no tax gov earn what wo  cool.gif

10% Sales Tax is NOT exempted , unless you drive only in Langkawi.

Hybrids below 2000cc are promoted with exemptions from 30% Import Duty and 75% Excise Duty until 2013 (mostly likely extended, or until Proton has local hybrid??)

Latest Camry models for local market do not have VSC , and airbag max at 4 only shakehead.gif .

Our PriusC is full Japan safety spec! flex.gif
(but our imports has no options for autolock, TPMS, ...)

Next gen Honda petrol engines would be using similar highly efficient Atkinson cycle design as in our PriusC. icon_idea.gif

Noise of course sure got mah but it is not noisy as what the Consumer Report says.Interior, personally I think Honda Jazz is nicer but that's not the point why I prefer Prius C.My experience with Prius C is a comfortable ride and silent ride.It is not underpower. It is hybrid.Swict off the eco mode probably you get more power.Every car has it's pros and cons, even BMW has it's own problem.I did quite a few research and a few nights of decision making before I decide to get this car.And finally my decision has won over Jazz Hybrid and Vios. One word to sum up about this car...Good vehicle at it's price range.
*
Watch the YouTube of PriusC Consumer Report and you can see from the guy face he is acting strangely very bias against this hybrid model. He even implied that this advance technology hybrid car should be sold at lower prices when we are already getting the best fuel economy from it. IMHO PriusC delivers all the goods for its target market.

Hi.. my 1000km service is up.. made appointment for next week. But i need to drive outstation this weekend, so i estimate my mileage by then will be around 1500km.. is this ok? anyone know if this is going to affect my car warranty?
thanks
*
PriusC in USA first service is at 5000 mile. The petrol engine in hybrid cars normally operates about half the time only.
So this should not affect local warranty of the standard 1000km. It was 1000mile during the years before metric.

Made sure during service to ask for the correct 0-20W engine oil. But most likely local SC only have the usual thicker 0-30W type for our hot climates.
Using this "wrong" thicker type, it is reported that our PriusC fuel economy figure would drop over 10%! cry.gif

Tried it, good thing it was straightforward. What's meant to be under the drivers seat btw? Just a gap for putting something under there?

Maybe a compact underseat sub-woofer...
