Hi FenomX, can add me to the list too?
I'm from Penang, booked CFE (Silver) last Thursday... sweat.gif

Q: How to update the map on the GPS? and where to get the update from?
*
There's a SD logo on the HU, so I think should be able to update the map:
user posted image

But still unconfirmed because me and SA also don't know what that SD "button" for...?
It cannot be press, cannot lift open either.
But I almost never seen a GPS navigation device that we can't update the map, how useless it will be... biggrin.gif

Now here's my questions:

[1]
Anyone know how good is the window tint film that come with Proton? I need those really able to block out heat because most of the time I park my car under direct sunlight while I'm in the office... sad.gif

[2]
If the window tint film were badly done (bubble, dust), can we refuse to accept or request for a redo?

[3]
I can't recall where, but I read from some website saying the meter can also display outside temperature, anyone can confirm this? This is not an important feature, but I just love reading it... tongue.gif

[4]
How can we know when the turbo actually kicks in? I can't notice any different in engine sound.

Thank you! icon_rolleyes.gif

The car wasnt under power la. although the response is shytty below 2k. And under d drive it keep control the rpm at very low side. After I use the paddle shift. There is power. And I haven't fully press down the accelerator.

Not bad la. but I do wonder. Where is the bov. And how is the turbo cooled? Coz I no see bov. And I see water pipe going into the turbo. Weird. Mine is oil cooled, n oil is needed for the turbo bearing. Can anyone clarify this?
*
Please don't worry about CVT cooler, there should be one somewhere in the engine bay. If not, the gearbox will overheat very earlier.

You can read from this thread. Although they are discussing about Exora, but I believe they are the same design. biggrin.gif

I think the booster cable is standard wit the accessories gua. Saga pun ade, even have an emergency first aid kit.
The tint is from Ecotint, the same as Inspira. If the specs are also the same, then it is actually pretty good. It should come with a few years warranty, so if it bubbles you can claim it from proton or ecotint.

OIC..... Thank you dares! thumbup.gif

i no get discount. only sand blast, touchngo, steering lock, full petrol.
*
What? Can get TouchNGo also? Reload for you ker? biggrin.gif
When I asked for full tank petrol, my SA said usually they won't give, but "chin-chai" for me only... sweat.gif

Anyone find the big chromed key hole on the boot an eyesore? hmm.gif
I'd rather they copy the Honda by making the hole small and hide it in tail lamp or even hide it inside the Proton logo... smile.gif

QUOTE(smwah @ Apr 23 2012, 11:00 PM)
Some times very hard to judge during the test drive. First there are over hundred ppl already test drive the car, and worst they are not test drive but trying to spoil the car. Come on u dun drive such way if the car belongs to u. Any way u drive violent also will break lar. U can drive a sedan like driving a 4wd or driving like a sport car.
My only concern is the quality itself. For example when a thing is manufactured there will some tolerance or buffer before it breaks down. That why some design are made to compensate any possible damage could happen. Of course the cost of manufacturing will cost more. So there come the cost down factor.
I not saying this car is bad. Just want to understand how well the car is make. A simple continental car or a simple vios, after driving more than 5 years it still going well. But if a simple proton car maybe after 3 years driving many problem appeared. Sometime i dun think is the qc prob, it could be the design and costing side. So conclusion is how is the preve team would be preform. This is very interesting. Specs wise no problem, now will be coming to reliability.
But still very poision to buy.
Lastly design is very subjective, I think those ppl like continental car will like preve. But for those looking for jap or korean modern design, they may complain it. Personally I like it coz the design is simple and classy.
*
I think Proton already got the clue on how to make a reliable car... blush.gif

When the time I want to buy a Persona, every friends of mine, including foreman that I know, tell me not to get Persona.
They give many reasons, from built quality to "local made" Campro Engine etc...
But only the owner will know, and in fact, among the cars that I have been owned, I drive my Persona the widest way, and it really rough and tough! flex.gif
This also out of my expectation, it's a surprise how reliable the so called "local made engine" can withstand my torture... rclxms.gif (although I'm not the craziest driver compare to some people here).
Because of the Persona, Proton gain back my confident, and I am confident to this Preve too! nod.gif

Well in terms of reliability my Waja 2001 4g18 not bad. Got the car last year, replace all wear and tear parts, maintain it nicely and the car never let me down. Even managed to survive one day on the track. Only thing is the door handle broke once but that's about it. My friend who bought an Audi A4 year 2000 for 23k said he rather have my car. His car giving many problems to him. While overtaking somebody in a housing area, his driveshaft just patah and fall to the ground leaving chunks of metal behind. His interior also squeaks and creeks alot worse than my car. He spent almost rm10k to service the car and it's still not in the best condition since conti parts are expensive as hell if you compare with Proton. How a car handles age depends on how the owner maintains it and IMO since *many* Proton owners aren't that well off so they tend to skimp on repairs and ending up blaming proton on every fault while drivers of more premium T &  How brand are more well off and are more than willing to keep their car in the best condition possible.
*
Me too had a friend driving brand new Audi A4 (ok, about 10 years ago), but after less than 6 months ownership, while he was driving along North South Highway, the car stalled!
The reason, timing belt (or timing chain, I can't remember) broke and a few valve putus also...
I'm not bashing Audi, but just want to point out, sometimes a brand new car could broke down also lar..... it's by luck maybe... sweat.gif

Hi all,

Is this hook (click "spoiler" to view) consider a standard accessory?
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Since the spec. sheet stated it has [Front active headrest], can we still remove the headrest and install additional hook?
This hook very useful to me, I use it everyday in my current car! tongue.gif

That hook can get less than RM10 from hypermarket  laugh.gif

Actually my concern is, if we can simply remove the "pillow" to install those hooks like we do in all other cars? Because I don't know what is this "Active headrest" does? I'm afraid we cannot remove it easily and it sound like something sensitive? Haha....

i think about the sluggishness, Mat79 and others already explain in previous posts..
it's something to do with CVT setup for this Preve.

long lasting tyres are usually made from harder compounds and harder compounds are usually noisy.
