Some times very hard to judge during the test drive. First there are over hundred ppl already test drive the car, and worst they are not test drive but trying to spoil the car. Come on u dun drive such way if the car belongs to u. Any way u drive violent also will break lar. U can drive a sedan like driving a 4wd or driving like a sport car.
My only concern is the quality itself. For example when a thing is manufactured there will some tolerance or buffer before it breaks down. That why some design are made to compensate any possible damage could happen. Of course the cost of manufacturing will cost more. So there come the cost down factor.
I not saying this car is bad. Just want to understand how well the car is make. A simple continental car or a simple vios, after driving more than 5 years it still going well. But if a simple proton car maybe after 3 years driving many problem appeared. Sometime i dun think is the qc prob, it could be the design and costing side. So conclusion is how is the preve team would be preform. This is very interesting. Specs wise no problem, now will be coming to reliability.
But still very poision to buy.
Lastly design is very subjective, I think those ppl like continental car will like preve. But for those looking for jap or korean modern design, they may complain it. Personally I like it coz the design is simple and classy.
I think Proton already got the clue on how to make a reliable car...
When the time I want to buy a Persona, every friends of mine, including foreman that I know, tell me not to get Persona.
They give many reasons, from built quality to "local made" Campro Engine etc...
But only the owner will know, and in fact, among the cars that I have been owned, I drive my Persona the widest way, and it really rough and tough!
This also out of my expectation, it's a surprise how reliable the so called "local made engine" can withstand my torture...

(although I'm not the craziest driver compare to some people here).
Because of the Persona, Proton gain back my confident, and I am confident to this Preve too!

Well in terms of reliability my Waja 2001 4g18 not bad. Got the car last year, replace all wear and tear parts, maintain it nicely and the car never let me down. Even managed to survive one day on the track. Only thing is the door handle broke once but that's about it. My friend who bought an Audi A4 year 2000 for 23k said he rather have my car. His car giving many problems to him. While overtaking somebody in a housing area, his driveshaft just patah and fall to the ground leaving chunks of metal behind. His interior also squeaks and creeks alot worse than my car. He spent almost rm10k to service the car and it's still not in the best condition since conti parts are expensive as hell if you compare with Proton. How a car handles age depends on how the owner maintains it and IMO since *many* Proton owners aren't that well off so they tend to skimp on repairs and ending up blaming proton on every fault while drivers of more premium T & How brand are more well off and are more than willing to keep their car in the best condition possible.

Me too had a friend driving brand new Audi A4 (ok, about 10 years ago), but after less than 6 months ownership, while he was driving along North South Highway, the car stalled!
The reason, timing belt (or timing chain, I can't remember) broke and a few valve putus also...
I'm not bashing Audi, but just want to point out, sometimes a brand new car could broke down also lar..... it's by luck maybe...
