Hi there, I'm planning on getting the Amazon Kindle 4 (with ads) through a friend from the States who will buy it there and bring it back here. I've read some of the threads on the kindle and it seems that to buy books off amazon for the kindle is quite a difficult and time consuming process and I was wondering since I won't be buying much books and I'll mostly be just putting in my own books, whether it is possible for me to buy the Kindle and use it for say half a year to a year without registering it. Because I might be going to the states soon for College and then I could register over there.

But another option is for my friend to register it under her identity and help me buy books. Would this require her to make every purchase for me? And since I don't have a credit card, only a debit I'm not sure if I can even buy off amazon.

Any answers or advice for me would be appreciated =)

You can still register an amazon account and link it to your kindle. But you won't be able to purchase books while you are in Malaysia.

What I'll do is, register first. Read the books that you are going to put in for the first half of the year. Then when you move over to US, link a debit card from US into your amazon account then voila you are all set

Right, that's what i thought I'd do. But say if I want to buy a book while in Msia, can I just unregister my account and do the Account A and Account B thing?
