Average is 2666. 2800 and above is rare.

Anyone still playing with IB? I got an ES i5 3570k, 1.23v @ 4.5Ghz, but when I run prime95 large fft test, run for 7-8 hours, my core 1 max temp is 67c and core 4 max at 102c, the time period is about the same, why the temperature difference is so huge? Is it because of sensor problem?

hi guys,

imma new to oc here.

yesterday i tried oc-ing my i7 3770k, at first trying to get 4.5ghz, but the vcore needs to be very high, i try until 1.35 but still need increase so i stopped, because the temp goes around 95-100 in prime95.

tried 4.2ghz, manage to go lowest at 1.15vcore. test prime95 for 20+min is ok. no bsod.

can tell me what is the next thing i should do? like when idle the vcore should also stay 1.15? need some advise XD

i also set the LLC on High.

you need to delid your 3770k for better thermal performance. Btw use offset setting for 24/7 overclock. the vcore will stay at at normal rate. Btw test with prime95 for at least 12 hours for maximum stability test.

hey, how does the offset work?

currently for 4.3ghz the vcore is constant at 1.21

how should i offset this?

edit:

guys i dont understand the offset mode.

at first i tried stressing the cpu on offset mode, offset value = auto, when stress the vcore reach 1.40 constant.

then i went back to bios, i tried offset value 0.19. since for 4.3ghz, my cpu needs 1.21vcore. (it did not boot)

went back bios offset value change to 0.05, boot in to windows, stress test the vcore reach max 1.21vcore, which is what i want ._.

when idle vcore 0.848 - 0.9.

i dont understand why bios offset value 0.05 (-) can make vcore 100% cpu usage @ 1.21vcore.

You need to know what's your CPU VID..then use the VID + or - your stable Vcore.
The results is your offset value. Anyway if you don't understand you can try google about it..there's a lot of guide how to use offset OC.

want to ask is idle vcore 0.84 too low?

today when im testing my pc to stream and game at the same time, i always tot my pc very stable edi, suddenly BSOD.

my vcore in cpuz is 1.20 in CPUZ when full load 100%, overclocked to 4.3ghz.

my offset is set to -0.08. does this mean my cpu need more vcore tats why it crashed?

if yes then should i reduce the offset more to like -0.075, 0.07? is theory correct?

VID=1.3210 in Coretemp.

Does anybody have an i7-3770K with a 3000MHz IMC,
and
can you use the IMC at that speed
WITHOUT
overclocking the processor?
(Thinking about getting some DDR3 Corsair Vengeance Extreme memory modules).

Nvm, I found another brand with DDR3-3000 and lifetime warranty that I can get.
Also found an overclocking guide, so it's all good. smile.gif

Yes it will void the warranty. However, I've never seen anyone got their processors killed from overclocking....unless they are using excessive Vcore or the cooling system failed. Modern processor and mobo nowadays all got temperature/heat protection in place; as long as you know how to set them in the BIOS.
What's your computer specs?

You can download CPU-Z (http://www.cpuid.com/downloads/cpu-z/cpu-z_1.72-en.exe) and check what processor, mobo and RAM you have. For other hardware like PSU, you have no choice but open up and see what brand and model you got.
