QUOTE(NewbieBetta @ Oct 3 2013, 05:27 PM) cheers bro, I read somewhere saying that if going for OC Ivy chip is better than Haswell in term of heat dissipation?? Both are actually same hot. It is not a good idea to compare Haswell @ 5.0GHz with Ivy @ 5.0GHz, considering Haswell has roughly 10% IPC performance gain over Ivy. Hence, you are going to compare like Haswell @ 4.7GHz vs Ivy @ 5.0GHz.

Today is a rainy day. So sleepy in the office so I decided to overclock my office rig the HP pavilion HPE H8-1340D. The machine is powered by i5 3570, cooled by Intel stock HSF, and single stick of 4GB Ramaxel 1600MHz C11 RAM: i5 3570 3.4GHz @ 4.0GHz | 1 X 4GB Ramaxel 1600MHz 11-11-11-28-1T @ 1600MHz 9-9-9-24-1T Intel Extreme Tuning Utility is used to tweak the overclock.

QUOTE(XeMoAsLaM91 @ Nov 16 2013, 03:40 PM) can u over clock a i5-3750? Do you mean i5 3570? Yes you can, you will need to change the base clock, which in turn will affect you ram frequency.

QUOTE(XeMoAsLaM91 @ Nov 17 2013, 03:22 AM) g77m-g43 msi mobo. nop havent tried b4. haha. still newbie Here is a guide for Ivy Bridge overclocking. If you go to the first page on this forum, there are a lot of guide posted by owikh84. Since you using a non-K processor, overclocking will be hard. I'm not sure if you can adjust the multiplier. I suppose the base clock is the only way to overclock a non-K cpu. Read the guide and ask more on what you are not sure of.

QUOTE(XeMoAsLaM91 @ Dec 1 2013, 12:31 AM) 3570 can overclocked? wihout a K All the non-K i5 and i7 can go up 4.0GHz and is essentially just changing the turbo. Normal turbo speed for your CPU on all cores is 3.6, but will be 4.0 if you set a 42 multi. 4.2 will be for 1 core.

Hi guys, new oc-er here. Here's my first attempt on oc my i5-3570k 3.2Ghz to 4.2Ghz. I'm using Intel Burn Test to test my stability. Can push it even more? Is Intel Burn Test enough or I need run Prime 95 24/7? Attached thumbnail(s)

Of course the longer the test the more confident you are in your OC. But for me, 20 runs of IBT or LinX are more than enough.

Alright, u think it's possible to use the same stock voltage while oc-ing it up to 4.3? Cuz I'm using offset -.050v at the moment for the 4.2Ghz. Using custom wc to cool things down atm so I think should be able to handle it?
