i think proton could have touch up a bit on the welding spots before coating it with paint. It might have not any impact on the safety of car but it might encourage built up of rust after awhile.
anyway, i test drove the 1.6T full specs yesterday and the car felt heavy and the acceleration was not what i expected from an engine equipped with turbo. When the gear shifted, I could hear the humming noise. The noise was more prominent and significant with vibration felt towards the rear of the cabin when i sat at the back and my colleague drove it.
Having said that, the cabin was spacious, easily accomodating 3 average size adults (2 colleagues with myself). Boot was spacious too. Rear seats had better inclination than persona and quite a good clearance between my head and roof. My taller colleague (almost 6 ft) could sit straight and both of us had no problem getting in and out of the car, which was an improvement over gen-2 and persona.
The GPS / HU could have a bigger screen since the dashboard design made the screen feel even smaller. The driver seat did not feel as good as the rear seats. Some how, when i slided into the driver seat, i felt the frame of the seat at the side where the cushion arched upward and quite hard.
