Recently my FLX gave RPM surge during cold start, when starting up, the RPM goes right up to 2000rpm then drop to idle (near 1000rpm), I'm sensing the engine is starving for air-intake when startup?

Currently total distance traveled is about 203km.

When I got my car, the sales girl put in RM20, and then I fuel up with RM35 (full tank), however it is still one bar lower. (total 6 bar, only 5 bar was filled)

Now its 2 bar left.
*
A tip for you, the last bar actually has 2 stage, one is non-blink, and another one with blinking (with orange/amber-colored Fuel light should come out at your meter by now), by the time it blinks, you still have 10-litre left inside the tank, I can easily do 390km until it starts to blink, mine is 1.6-litre IAFM. smile.gif

Difficult to explain la, like your handphone on vibrate, but louder. Coming from the front of the car.
*
I really looking forward for your problem to be fixed, because my car also give that vibrating sound, it happens on the left-side dashboard (deeper inside the dasboard like in front of the car right?), I think it's hard to solve..., they may change the whole dashboard to solve it....

There's a few things I'm curious when examining the engine bay of my FLX this morning, I think sifus here can confirm my speculation/doubt:

There's a cable which seems to be going nowhere, is it suppose to be this?
[attachmentid=2817747]

There's 2 hose connecting to the CVT gearbox, so this is the hose that connects to the CVT cooling (located near the radiator)? If that is the case then the first batch of FLX have only one hose before Proton initiates recall to add another hose (due to overheating) right? My guess is that it extracts the CVT oil itself from the gearbox for cooling (unlike engine which uses water for cooling)? Last saturday, I was traveling 600+km in a single day and the gearbox works really well.
[attachmentid=2817748]

I've booked CoSE and I think this is the "nenas" that's making the vibration sound from the interior as indicated by bro dares. Hopefully they can change it on the same day.
[attachmentid=2817752]
[attachmentid=2817753]

Is this to indicate it is a 1.6-litre engine? I see no different when opening the engine bay of 1.3 FLX.

Overall in my opinion, the car is great to have, I've been using Myvi 1.3 for 4 years, suspension is a bit hard but body roll is much better than the Myvi, it lacks the noise insulation and environment sounds are really really loud during 120km/h highway cruising, last time when my father ride with me he had difficulty in hearing what I want to say to him biggrin.gif , average fuel consumption 12.5 - 13km/l as I'm doing 80% city driving everyday, so far I've experienced 3 problems with the car:
1) Boot hard to close (Fixed on 1st service)
2) Fog light is higher angle than headlight (will try to rectify this on 5000km service)
3) Vibration sound from the "nenas" (will also try to rectify this on 5000km service)
other than this, it does its job superbly, I'll be going to CoSE on 21st May to rectify the 2 remaining problems.

Re the hanging connector, the consensus here is that it is supposed to be connected to something that is only available in export versions.

When you made the appointment did you mention the nenas thing? they need to contact the vendor to replace it if that is the culprit. Did you also ask for Mr. Taj Mohamad?
*
When I made the call I didn't mention about the nenas, I just say there's a vibration sound underneath the car and I request for vehicle checkup, I planned to mention the nenas and Mr Taj Mohamad when I arrived at CoSE later on as maybe speaking in person would be better? anyway just my 2 cents, I don't prefer to leave my car at their place but if that has to be (because they need to contact vendor right?) then it's ok if not more than 2 days, I'll post here when the problem is rectified.

dares.. is it ur ekjos sound buzz buzz when u revving during 2100rpm?

cause sometimes ada sometimes takda.. adoi.. haha

im waiting my 5k service also..  my tak tak behind left side brake shoe, my steering not allign properly on first service.
*
In my case, the way I simulate the sound is by pressing the throttle until the engine is steady at near 2000rpm, then press more (like you're overtaking someone, but don't fully press it), when the rpm rises, the buzz sound should appear smile.gif, to make the sound continously appear, steady your throttle (stop pressing the pedal deeper) when the sound come out, let the throttle go to let the sound go off smile.gif

true.. then u will wonder how ur parents can drive so calmly

actually if u observed especially with roads with lots of traffic lights
only 1-2 cars will drive like hell.. others jz drive relax..

on highway esp most right lane, nothing can be done, jz move to the left when it's possible
and rmber to give signal so those tailgaters won't cut u from inside (left)

if those cars bang u, by default it's their fault
i believe in Malaysia no one dare to bang u jz for blocking
or late giving way to them

u won't lost anything by giving way
in fact u will burn ur fuel faster by racing them
and not worth thinking about it esp if u lose in the race
*
thanks for the advice bro smile.gif, I always kept to middle or left-most lane (even that sometime I got cucuk by someone) otherwise I move to give a way for them
