Should Preve still be considered?, Or drop it and consider others?

It is unfair to compare a RM70K++ Potong car with a RM70K++ imported car i.e Toyota and the like.
The price for imported cars have been hiked up close to a 100% of their original price and they have to compromise many features and specs just to compete with the local trash Potong.
RM70K++ for a piece of local junk is considered very expensive especially for the quality that they are providing.
Elsewhere in the world, RM70k++ can get you quality of a VW Golf and the like.

QUOTE(Pogostik @ May 9 2012, 09:00 PM) Not build/assemble in Malaysia, I guess? There is where you got it wrong my friend. Any foreign car is an imported car, regardless of it being CKD or CBU.

QUOTE(h4dRi @ May 9 2012, 09:09 PM) dude, vios is ckd'ed in malaysia, so it will only get imposed extra 10% tax only compared to proton, total tax for proton car is 85% & vios is 95%http://www.maa.org.my/info_duty.htm, and yet these empty can toyota price so high here, get your fact right before u type Hello fren, Potong is a local car. Why should it be subjected to those taxes in the table http://www.maa.org.my/info_duty.htmUnder Local Taxes CBU and CKD, Potong is not subject to these taxes. If a Vios is taxed only 10% more than a Potong, the latter would have gone into administration a long time ago.

QUOTE(dares @ May 9 2012, 09:42 PM) Potong is subjected to the same excise duty and sales tax like vios. Vios is subjected to an additional 10% import duty. Thanks for clarifying. Anyhow, to me, Potong doesn't exist because it is a combination of "bought" technology tweaked a lil' here and there and claiming it as their own. I will not even consider it if I am getting a new car.

G'day mates. All the best with your Potongs.
