I want to trust Proton again but upon looking at the welding finish on all 4 doors....it turned me off immediately.

Anyways, coming back to topic, I find the price range to be really huge. It really depends on priority, I feel. Test drive is a definite must before considering the spec sheet.

In terms of sheer value for money, I take the Preve. Since I place comfort as a priority, the large cabin space (more comfort for rear passengers for long distance drives) and superior NVH (you really won't notice the speed you're travelling in unless u look at the meter) wins high marks for me. I don't zip around in high speeds too much but it's good to know overtaking on B roads can be done confidently.

In summary:-

Peugeot 207 - space restriction, heavy steering
Vios J spec - compromised safety
Inspira 2.0 - arguably a good choice too but space and spec wise, Preve wins, not to mention a lot cheaper
Forte 2.0 - Preve trumps rear comfort and space
Myvi 1.5 - Not really a sedan so I won't consider this as an option

seriously that 1k rpm before turbo spools does it take that long to reach 2k rpm?  i haven't go test drive yet but based on my previous (10 years) experiences with turbo cars, 1k rpm of turbo lag / sluggishness isn't THAT bad.  but this is just my 2 cents, need to test drive first to see.  at least u won't have to suffer the crappy underpowered and unresponsiveness of the vios on ALL the rev range

my friends first batch Exora Bold first three months engine suddenly shut down.... send back to service center dunno what happen.... then he regreted.... he said he should not give Proton chance at all... should have listen to me to buy the later batch car instead of becoming the guinea pig or should i said QC OFFICER of Proton.

he has already resolve the problem already.

I wont said this is not a problem of PROTON. First of all to us normal consumer will only think that those SA also work for Proton.... no way are they not related or responsible...

second is the SC does not have enough knowledge about the car.... and have no way to help check the problem which i cant accept. Sending a customer back and forth to the SC but cannot solved a small problem on a BRAND NEW car.

Sadly, you are right. stupid SAs reflect poorly on Proton, but what can Proton do? all they can do is educate their customers.

Also, I am assuming your friend send to authorized SC instead of Proton Edar SC, because I think this is a common problem.

the cvt 'rubber band' feeling is no doubt. but the power is there..except the feel is no there. hehehehe. even established brand have problem with turbo lag. monstrous evo fq400 have problem with turbo lag. i'm looking fwd to drive a car with wide range of torque peak..sure nicee... 

On top of the turbocharger, VW adds a supercharger to 'fix' that lower end rpm. I tihnk if preve add something like that need to tambah another $10k and it's probably too high tech an undertaking for proton.

For a near c-segment car at 73K i think can consider...

But test drive the car, feel it, like it, only order.

As MR_alien says, the downside is there no discount thou.

Test drive the Preve last nite. Basically Proton still live up to its name as the worst car manufacturer .....

Below are my personal feel on the test drive;

Pros;
1. Looks original and considerably big for a compact sedan
2. CVT transmission is smooth
3. Big booth space
4. Value for money

Cons;
1. Steering too heavy for a car that size and weight
2. Pick up slow considering with CFE and turbocharged
3. Dash board and meters look cheap, like a slightly upgraded Proton Saga dash board and meter
4. Suspension too hard, maybe due to big rims and lower profile tyres
5. Internal finishing are cheap plasticky and too thin
6. Reliability of equipments are questionable. The test drive unit's traction control cannot be turn on. Only a few days after launching....    

Conclusion definately not buying. Price and feature wise is very tempting but after trying out ..... very disappointed.
