CM9 or AOKP better?
I'm still running on stock. In a dilemma whether to flash custom ROM, because I might lose all my contact FB linkage which I have done using haxsync.

I do notice micro-lags when the menu fades in or out sometimes. Only custom ROMs are able to fix this?

Hmm, really, I didn't notice that so far. Was that happening frequently?

For those having update failed. Please remove CWM, it will fail because of CWM recovery. However, rooting is fine.

QUOTE(im_not_stupid @ Apr 23 2012, 09:16 AM) File addition is fine (rooting pushes 2 files only), file removal/replacement will break OTA.QUOTE(ffantasy @ Apr 23 2012, 09:53 AM) You can try the Gnex Toolkit for ease of use. It has an option to restore stock recovery. You may install CWM after OTA update but if you do so, OTA will fail again in the future. Unless you use CWM regularly, just use Gnex toolkit to 'tether' boot to CWM recovery. |

QUOTE(ffantasy @ Apr 23 2012, 10:09 AM) Thanks for answering, previously I use CWM is just wan to do a backup. So it is fine to OTA with stock rom rooted and unlocked but CWM must be stock? You're right. I experimented with mine already. You will lose root if you update via OTA, but you can easily reroot again using Gnex toolkit. |

QUOTE(j.sun @ Apr 24 2012, 12:14 PM) Just got myself a Nexus. Kinda new to android and don't really know how to use it. May I ask, what can i do with the phone if I root it? And is it advisable to root the phone? And also, if I root the phone, if there any chances that I might screw the phone up like crashing the os or something like that? You don't need to root the phone until you find yourself needing root.p/s: Sorry for all the noob questions. Bare with me as a newbie to androids. =) |

QUOTE(kadajawi @ May 4 2012, 06:38 AM) Guys, I'm considering buying a Galaxy Nexus soon, but this thread got me worried: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1425382 I think that's a rare case. Never heard of this issue.Seems like all (?) GN are prone to this hairline crack (always in the same position), and it seems to be heat related (well, temperature changes). Is the Malaysian weather (or using it as GPS, without being cooled by the aircon) a problem? Especially when using it with a case like the Otterbox Commuter? (I tend to drop my phone once in a while...) Does anyone here have this problem? Or is the GN trouble free in Malaysia? |

QUOTE(Roborovskii @ May 4 2012, 04:52 PM) Hey, having some question here. Won't lock back after flashing, at least true for those Docomo unit sold locally. If you ship from Negri like those mentioned on XDA, yes. I've been told by directd that those Docomo units are unlocked by Docomo with a fee.Malaysia AP nexus most is docomo. The docomo originally unlock 1? or software unlock? Will it lock back when we flashing other rom? |
