Galaxy Nexus DoCoMo aka SC-04D is already unlock by DoCoMo (Software and Sim-Lock). It only weakness is unable support tethering out of box.

Many of our members here using DoCoMo set and happily playing flashing

To-play safe, get GT-I9250 ones not SC-04D

I only ask you to download factory images from Google, get the latest tgz file with Version Number IMM76I which is 4.0.4
I only ask you to unlock bootloader just to flash factory images and then you can lock back, it won't state as Relock, is LOCKED.
I only tell you that use toolkit to do the unlock and lock job and flash job so you don't need to waste your time typing on command prompt.

Don't give a reason no mood to flash, SME set aren't yakju in first place if you don't mind wait SAMSUNG for OTA. Be my guest. If you want fresh from Google, flash to yakju then OTA.

Warranty wise, you still remain OK? You holding a developer phone, not a feature phone.
