those korean fluid design won't last long. I does look nice the first time..but lama-lama it gets boring. Like the Sonata YF. Now i get bored looking at its interior.

But as for conti cars like BMW, Audi, VW, eventhough quite old model..
like Golf MK5, BMW E36, Audi A4 (B5, B6 model) still look good eventhough quite old models. Because their design is simple yet practical.

Just my 2cents. Design is purely subjective.

the reminder@indicator is normally place in info display, but its good to put reminder to passenger side so that the passenger also being remind if not fasten seatbelt, airbag is off. Part of meeting 5 star, the safety reminder. The unlock is for passenger for easyness to unlock the door. The driver's side also has one on the door panel if not mistaken. Only part that involve driver such esc n heating elements on the right side of h u. Isn't it ergonomics or not?

The design, i think just to make it nice flowing with right n left side. It will be explained by sa(they shud do when u test drive the car), but dont worry, normal things to proton, everything need to scrutinised or molest or abuse 1st to check quality. If u just touch nicely n push even the indicator nicely, then not a prob at all. Probs when u push with force, like something rosak.

Its under unece n euroncap rules to have reminder.

But i think its ok, maybe they need to design it diff so that people wont misunderstand(but the owner wont coz they will be informed about all functions).

i couldn't agree more!

This morning saw a lot of people sharing the Preve photo showing that the welding point isn't good, is that true the Preve welding quality is that bad, please confirm, I haven't got the time to visit the Preve, anyone who have tested this car or molested this car please give us some idea, I thinking to get this car for my wife. Thanks.
*
don't worry. i was told that customer car will be getting an improved quality at that particular welding area.
maybe that problem is only found in a few showroom cars. most probably the earliest batch of cars.
however that doesn't effect safety. It's just appearance wise..not good.

i hope when i plan to purchase end of this year, that problem will be solved rclxm9.gif

i just found out from the brochure that :

polo sedan (1.6 NA - torque 138/3800rpm)
kerb weight = 1182kg
gross vehicle weight = 1730kg

preve (1.6 CFE - torque 205/2000~4000rpm)
kerb weight = 1340kg
gross vehicle weight = 1700kg

does this means that the new Polo Sedan is heavier than Preve by 30kg?
which one do we usually compare..kerb weight or gross weight?

i was suprised that a basic model like Polo Sedan is as heavy as Preve..
btw, not interested with the Polo anyway.. still firm with my plan getting the Preve next year icon_idea.gif

i'm used to driving with CVT, so i understand the different when accelerating in AT car vs CVT car.

really looking foward to test drive the Preve CFE. But the queue is too long..have to find showroom with less people waiting..hahaha

i'd say proton did well with Preve's steering wheel.
Look so much better than the City's.

did the air bag deploy?
*
airbag sensor is located at bumper beam. so since no impact at that area...not deployed.
in this case, seatbelt enough to keep the passenger safe. overall the structure still intact. even no severe damage at the fenders.

the undercarriage however might be a diff story...
*
lower arm mesti either crack or patah terus.

i had a similar accident with my perodua a few years back. hit the divider at 70km/h, trying to avoid a car doing a sudden u-turn.
lower arm abis, 1 rim total lost..tayar kena ganti, bumper kena repair. whistling.gif

baru 70km..ni 120 km maaa... front bumper still intact..no scratch at all

i don't think it hit exactly at 120km/h..
he might be driving at that speed just before the crash...hit emergency brake..then accident.
we only see 1 side of the photo, i wonder if there's any damage to the left side of the car.

have to ask Hezeri Samsuri, the top gear malaysia editor.. if not mistaken he's among the first to tweet about the accident and the 120km/h figure.

already test drive the car this morning.
in short, I LOVE this car.

i don't feel the "lag" that most been telling. Maybe I'm not the type that rush during drive from stand still. Or maybe already used to drive CVT on honda & inspira. Handling was no argument...it was superb. I might be going for a second test drive..because can't get enough of it.. thumbup.gif

appearance wise, the car at showroom no issue on welding point..totally different from the photos published. The glove compartment also not that hard to close.

i'm still sticking to the plan..end of this year to book. Now will start collecting for the d/payment.. thumbup.gif

after the test drive today, i wonder how it will be like driving on the highway for balik kampung or holiday trips...for sure the Preve drivers tekan kaw2..and beaming high lamp on the right lane..or maybe going zig-zag cutting queue like those drivers from down south. haha

damn, i can't believe i'm saying this..but if the bank loan process is not as strict as before..this car surely Pisang Panas like Waja times.
