Even Proton give spec like BMW also, people want Proton to give price below RM100k just because it was local car.
Pity Malaysian. Their rakyat always look down their own product too much.

Built a better car and sell it to rakyat malaysia for what its worth the we can talk. Until then i will never support and buy a proton. Why are we paying more for a shitty local proton, while the export model is "better" yet selling cheaper oversea?

Defining worth please  hmm.gif  To be realistic, none car was perfect. The prob with Malaysian is, they try to seek Proton prob way too much compare to their competitor. Small prob in conti/japanese car is big prob at Proton.
It just hard to satisfy Malaysian need when our people head just full with negativity which lead to bias perception.
I'm not saying Proton is good but compare to their same price range competitor, they are doing good actually.
But of course, there is still room for improvement.

Anyway, I wonder why people here not flaming UMW Toyota by giving ridiculous spec for our beloved Malaysian  rolleyes.gif  Simply because Malaysian head are just full with positivity about foreign car. No airbag, no abs, no ebd also ok since my mind can accept it. Really typical  shakehead.gif

And if you read F&F more often, you can get your answer about the Proton pricing at local and oversea more easily.
Don't become so lazy.

Here is how you define worth.

A base Toyota camry cost Usd21,955 in US which is roughly rm68k.
A preve cost around rm68k.

If you have rm68k and you want to buy a car, which car would you buy? Please be honest with yourself. Let us also leave the tax out for this exercise.

I think the answer you choose is pretty obvious because the car you would choose is worth more.

bro, wat kind of comparison is this? if u are working and living in the states, pls go ahead and spend $22k get the camry. RM68k wont get u half of camry in Malaysia.
gosh how long must this kind of comparison go on.... Live in Malaysia, earn RM, spend RM....
*
Gosh...its people like you that our country is going no where. The above is a comparison of malaysian cars and japanese car. The Jap can make a Camry and sell it at RM68k. I am not talking about buying car in US. I am talking about manufacturing a better car yet it cost less.

I ask you to read more on this forum did you read  doh.gif  Did you know Proton also are subjected to tax? Why the hell you compare price at USA and Malaysia. Tax structure are big different.

And if i not mistaken, USA car price is always the cheapest, some even more cheap than their original country but their maintenance for car is way too high. Which is why many USA citizen have their own bengkel for self personal maintaining purpose. Oil price there also are crazy. But yea they can afford it since their rakyat is so rich. It not even fair to compare Malaysia and USA situation in 1st place.
*
Its not about who is richer. Its about making quality car at cheaper price. Yes proton is subjected to tax, but if you look a the ticket price leaving out all the tax, the civic, altis, are all cheaper than the preve and I won't want to argue which is better.

Market Capitalisation for :

Honda - USD64b
Toyota - USD255b
Proton - RM3b

If you are a less educated person read this -> The size of market capitalisation indicate the size of the company.

Meaning, the big company can employ the best engineer, the best designer, big fund for R&D, big fund for market exploration and etc.

For those Prtn basher, looking at the size of company sure u know, Prtn did the best they can for customer.
Please be mindful if you want to make comparison.
*
Why is potong RM3B only...because it cannot perform. If you want to spend hard earn dollar on non performing company, by all means go ahead. For me I'm smarter not to spend my money on lousy company.

Thanks for the info. Copied for my facebook status smile.gif

It's really unfair to compare the three companies, but take a look at the cars Proton produces, it's not that far away comparing the specs and quality. Which is really a good job.
Is it okay to go and add another layer? I heard it'll void the 5 year warranty. But can it be done?
Exactly doh.gif But I'm definitely changing to 17". Which colour suits blue lagoon?
If everyone thinks like you, then no one will buy Proton. Proton will be NOTHING.
*
Fact is fact. Proton is nothing but a low end car manufacturer that can sell to poor malaysian who have no choice because imported are make artificially expensive so proton can sell.

although you are emotional a little here, but you're not entirely off.

if we let ppl choose Civic and preve.

i wonder what will be the outcome. they are pretty much same price ( i guess) without the tax thingy.
