QUOTE(DJSoo @ Jun 30 2012, 02:11 AM) Ok, add u in.. Welcome to the world best K5 .. Haha. Hehe I see and yeah I agree KIA is not the nicest acronym we can have just like RIP lol . Finally I found a design fault in the K5: the emblem! Kia should recognise this weakness and perhaps Mr.Schreyer to revamp the emblem. Being the corporate image it is so important to get the emblem right just like what Kia is trying to project with the tiger grill. The owners should be proud of the brand(hey Kia is no longer cheap- not that we have no other choices!) but if so many people are changing the emblem that really tells something is wrong.Maybe logo is more Like why ppl change Toyota logo to Lexus. Hehe.. Yes I am building a mountain out of a mole. Other than this this car is simply gorgeous, still look gorgeous after 2 months having it day-in and day-out. No regrets of buying it. Think I would have regretted if I have chosen Sonata or Accord or Teana or Camry- in sequence of choices. |

QUOTE(cybermaster98 @ Jul 1 2012, 04:18 AM) Trust me. U just got the car. I too had alot of getting used to changing from the Vios to the Optima. But now after 2 months, im quite confortable. If u run away now, u will never learn to drive d segment cars. Size is not an issue for small drivers since the driver's seat is power adjustable. Its height is more than sufficient for you. Yes totally agree of needing to get used to it. The rear viewable zone is rather small, frontview is low at my comfortable seat-height, and side viewzone too is small with big pillars. But after a while once you have blended youself well the into the new set you will have no problem and enjoy the ride! By then you will feel alien to drive your previous car Of course it's your car it's your choice to swap with anyone Added on July 1, 2012, 6:59 am QUOTE(cybermaster98 @ Jul 1 2012, 04:53 AM) I'll tell u this. Reliability of the older Kia models were crap. New models, nobody knows as its still new. But older Kia models did not have the Chief Designer for Audi during their time. Read thru all the pages on this thread and ull be able to make up your mind. But ill tell u this much, i owned a Toyota for 9 years before i moved to Kia and i too had an excellent experience with them but i refuse to be ripped off by Toyota again. For me safety, handling, value for money and warranty are more important. I believe the Optima will be durable but only time will tell. Come to think about is the old Kia really craps in realiability? I seldom see Kia cars broke down and wow those old spectra are still running on the road in rather big numbers. If u wana be a boring person who doesnt mind spending alot of money and getting far less in return then go for the Camry. If u want value for money, great design, much higher safety standards, cheaper price, better warranty terms and better handling then go for the Optima. 100% agree the design are craps though. E.g. I suspect owners of previous generation Optima placed many other criteria ahead of aesthetics in selecting the car This post has been edited by Krafted: Jul 1 2012, 06:59 AM |

QUOTE(joonnyx @ Jul 3 2012, 10:36 AM) Hey bro, Yeah i tried the first time even with the lights swithced on, it didn't work, then left it for 5 mins then tried it again and it worked. Maybe there is a separate water chamber for theheadlight washer and it took a while for the water to be channeled there before it actually worked...not sure, just a wild guess I remember reading it in the manual or somewhere, that the headlight washer is programmed to work every fifth time or something like that. Of couse this is also under the condition of turning on the windcreen washer AND front(lamps) ONAdded on July 3, 2012, 6:26 pmhttp://www.kenbrownharlow.co.uk/2012/06/kia-named-best-car-manufacturer-by-which/ Not just looks, customer satisfaction and reliability too. The low fuel lamp will be illuminated when the fuel bar goes down to 1 bar. Does anyone know what are the next fuel lamp- & fuel bar- behaviour if we drive further? I mean will the last bar also disappear, and then the fuel lamp start to blink before it goes completely dry?
Has anyone tested how many km more roughly it can go from the point when the fuel lamp is first illuminated? Max I tried is about 20km, dare not go further |

After 3 months and 7000 km of using it, I am still enjoying every moment of driving it. Nevertheless as with everything else there are some further improvement possible. Below are my feedback so far, what do you think?
1. Rear wiper is needed, as the rear windscreen is slopy so every inch of the real estate is important for rear view especially during heavy rain recently. 2. Auto wiper is not so intelligent, as sometimes it just waits for too long before next wipe. It should provide an option to choose for manual interval. 3. Insulation is really not bad, but can be better and I dont even mind to pay a few k for it as extra option as long as it is factory fitted.. But then I think Kia saves this superb quietness for K9 or even K7 only |

Do you notice that under all circumstances that it is possible to open the door @ driver's side even when driving. A safety feature I guess in case of accident? But at the same time feel unsecure as subconsciously knowing that the door can get opened if I itchy hand and pull the door lever..
