ya, i go find greentown mgr called justin.

lahat is the menglembu 1? dun wan . they lookdown on me jor. i drive old iswara. talk to me also they malas.
The owner of the Greetown outlet is not Justin. Look for Mr Ong.

Yes the Mengelembu outlet is actually Kia Jalan Lahat. And why u bother if they look down on you? U just wanna test drive the Optima rite? Just get the test drive (which is in your own interest) and then purchase from Greetown. I tested the Optima about 3 times at Jln Lahat before i went and bought from Greetown. Just look for the Branch Manager, Joe. Their service centre also quite good.

m... i got ask the jln lahat for test drive. they dun allow unless i book the car  hmm.gif
how i were to book if i not sure this car good or not. Well alot comment are good. but still we need to test it out right?
since they dun bother me, I as well go for other place. Ong aka justin call me just now. he got 1 test car for me on next week  smile.gif

If i were to take I will take platinum color  brows.gif
OK then it should be fine then. Be really sure about the colors. Check the grey both daytime and night. For me it looked good when it was under the shade but when it was in broad daylight, it looked dull. Plus i saw a dirty one at Kia PJ and immediately decided against getting that color. The dirt is very noticeable and really makes the car look dull. Alot of maintenance due.

Im quite happy with my silver. Only wash once in 2 weeks and doesnt look dirty despite all my outstation trips. PLus i think the silver is quite sleek and makes the car look bigger. The grey is somewhat dull in my opinion and doesnt bring out the best in the car's exterior design and sports rims.

I was at Toyota showroom last Friday, parked my PG k5 right in front of the main entrance and went in to check Prius for my wife. The new Camry was there for display, and I didn't really bother to check it out. On mysurprise, when I leave the showroom, there were some 5 guys wandering around my car with few of them saying loud "k5 far killer looking and nicer than new Camry".....hehehe.....I unlock my car and drove off proudly....
I had the same experience when i visited the Toyota showroom at TTDI to check out the Camry. I purposely parked right in front and almost everybody turned to look at the Optima. Surprisingly, no Toyota salesman came forward to hand me a brochure. HAHA biggrin.gif

Hope they resolve this crap the soonest, i actually booked on early april but needed to wait until WWX. Now that day has dawned, but now this drama. Actually after so long, the excitement has died down but each time i see the car on the road...damn it looks good
Might as well wait for WXA next month. No hurry.

Ya, I feel the same as well. This make me feel not so confident when taking high speed cornering. I did try to turn the same driving a Toyota vios (my gf 1) and the handling grip and body roll is much better on Toyota vios. So I really feel abit dissappointed with suspension. I thought they use the performance type suspension for K5?
The lack of confidence in cornering is due to the feedback from the steering. Nothing to do with the suspension. Ive tested the Optima at 200kmph taking corners on the NSE. The suspension on the Optima is much more firmer compared to the Camry but not as firm as the Peugeot 508 which makes driving over rough road at low speeds not that bad.

Yes feel it too especially when you doing emergency sharp corner - the whole car is like shaking
I usually feel the steering wheel jumping all over the place. The suspension feels ok. But im really not happy with the steering. Doesnt give u confidence especially during high speed drives.

I tried it and u don't need really high speed to feel it. Just drive around 120-140kmh and u will notice u need more efford to keep the k5 turning along the highway corner. But vios u feel less efford to turn the steering and it will cornering through the corner as u intend it to be. No bumpy or losing grip feels. Maybe I'm just too used to driving lower cc car. That's y the feedback is different. Lol.
The bumpy feel & difficulty to turn is due to the 18 inch tyres. Add that to a hydraulic steering (not electric) thats numb and has a 'feedback' and ull get the condition we currently face in the Optima. I sure hope Kia comes up with something to fix this problem.

Guys, whats your latest fuel consumption figures?

I also notice that my distance to empty has never passed the 700km mark. I only got it once during my 1st full tank fill up. Is the distance to empty based on how much u fill up? I always fill full tanks of between 70-78L but the distance to empty should be based on the amount of fuel in the tank rite? Not the amount u actually fill rite?

these electronic calculations are never accurate and only for reference purposes. the total mileage your car able to go before filling up is more important.

CM98 i thought in your previous post your total mileage per tank is around 700KM++
That mileage of almost 750km i got under my best driving experience of 50-50 highway and town driving while pushing the car to almost empty b4 filling. And since i travel alot on highways, i cant wait till im almost empty before i fill again. But now i rarely use the eco mode choosing to have more power instead (since i dont pay for my fuel).

But for distance to empty, i still dont know why it doesnt show anything more than 700km range despite filling up to 75L.

think they do the calculation based on ur driving patern right before u fill up the gas..for example, if u hard press, prolly u get 600km, and if u just enter kiosk from highway cruising, then u will get higher "to empty distance"
Ive tried filling after town driving and also after a cruise on the highway. Both still return below 700km figures for distance to empty.

Yes DJSoo, same colour. Easy to handle. It won t look dirty even after 2 or 3 week you did not wash the car...
Anyway, anybody there test the top speed. My K5 touch 220 on the way to Muar right before reaching Jejantas Melaka. But I think it still can go more...
My max was 210 cuz the jumpy steering doesnt give me much confidence to go faster than that. Im not sure if Kia can do something about it.

Guys, gonna book this monster next week...still having dilemma in choosing which color, white or silver? Both r nice. Can u guys vote?Wanna see which color win...
My Optima is the Silver. In my opinion, the silver looks the most classy. It also has this great shade of color at night under street lights. But the biggest advantage is the maintenance. U can easily go without washing your car for 1 month and it will still look clean from afar. Just do a Sierra Glow and cleaning will be an ease and it will always shine.

White is great too but only when its clean. Plus, ive seen many faded white cars (after about 3-5 yrs) and it really looks dull. Platinum graphite doesnt really bring out the best in the car. I saw 2 of those colors today and it didnt have that 'wow' look like the silver and white have. PLus when its dirty, it looks really bad.

My advice is to go for the silver. U wont regret and it always looks great and makes the sport rims stand out. Silver also brings out the best in the overall car design and gives it an overwhelming demeanor on the road. I still keep getting stares/looks at traffic light stops, restaurants and even on the highway.

Besides, anybody here has a silver Optima WWK 772? He had quite a good run on the highway on Sat evening doing about 200kmph. rclxms.gif

Guys, what's the most u have ever filled your full tank? Mine was 78.95L which i got with my first full tank. Subsequently, ive been filling about 75-77L with my smallest fill of 70L.

And i still cant get my 'distance to empty' at more than 700km. Except for the first full tank, my range has always been below 700km. Dunno why.

just filled 70L this morning and 'distance to empty' shows 794KM. this is the highest i have filled so far as i tried to go the max

one thing i notice is that before i fill up, its showing 9.2L/100KM but after full tank it shows 21.9L/100KM shocking.gif it goes back to 9.0L/100KM after traveling for about 20KM-ish. is this normal?
Bro, the fuel consumption is based on your driving style. When u drive off immediately after filling, you are still on either 1st or 2nd gear which has the highest consumption.

May be its the way you drive. Try changing the way you drive. Hope its not a defect.
How is the driving style got anything to do with the range of a full tank? Driving style affects fuel consumption. So for someone who is heavy footed, he may start with say 750km range after filling up a full tank. But the range will start dropping drastically if he is a heavy footer. Thats how the distance to empty works. Its never a fixed value and it will fluctuate depending on your driving style. When you driving style is very economical, it just takes longer for your range to drop.

But what im refering to here is the initial distance to empty just after filling up say 75L before the car even moves. Mine has always been below 700km despite my driving style. Only once i managed to get about 750km.

But i can usually travel about 600km before i fill up with about 3 bars of fuel left. My speed is usually around 170-180kmph on the highway.

I heard somewhere that not only can the car inform you on ur distance to empty when u are driving (according to ur driving style), it can also record the way you drive. That is why it will review the initial distance to empty (according to ur driving style). Don't know how true is this. Don't have the car to test it out yet. Still waiting for good news from my SA. May be bro CB98 can help test this theory out. Sure hope its not a defect. biggrin.gif  biggrin.gif  biggrin.gif
I have tried various driving styles.

I filled a full tank today (70.78L). Distance to empty was 694km. I then drove about 200km on the highway doing about 180-210kmph. Then allowed the car to rest for about 12 hours. Then took a 15min gradual drive in eco mode to the petrol station. Topped to the max again (27.20L) and the distance to empty showed 666km. I normally fill till almost overflowing.

On top of that i only consumed about 2 bars of fuel (out of 12) today but ended up filling 27.20L out of the possible 75L or so. It just doesnt add up. The other 'problem' is brochure states the full tank as 70L but i usually fill more than 75L with the maximum being almost 79L. All this tested at various petrol stations.

I really can't understand this at all.

It seems this is becoming quite an issue for you since you brought this up a couple of times, dang!, I hope I don't regret getting this car as I travel on the highway at speeds everyday.. Is it really that bad to warrant some tweaking?
Its not that its bad. Its just that you dont expect this with a car that's heavier than a Camry and has 18 inch rims. Plus its suspension is supposedly tuned for performance with HPD. I can't help but recall a forumer here saying that the Vios seems more stable at taking corners and i now seem to agree. I used to push my previous Vios to 180kmph and i had a bit more confidence taking corners then.

Im taking the car to Kia tomorrow to get it checked out. If its a problem then i wanna know bout it early.

Looks like Peugeot has stepped up the a few gears. They wanted to launch a cheaper version of the 508 since it wasnt selling well so they introduced 4 other models to mask a cheaper version. Good move. Not many would see it at a glance.

But the standard version has omitted the keyless entry, Smart Beam System, color HUD, electric parking brake, ASM aid, JBL sound system and the quad zone aircon with a RM 14K cheaper price tag.

You need to send the car outside and not to Kia sevrce centre. Kia don't have the equipment. You need to do " Balancing On Wheel"....Not all the shop have this equipment (the machine). Maybe 1 or 2 shop can do it without the machine...
But that is balancing. The problem is not due to tyre balancing. This is a steering issue.
