Next time fill till virtually full. The Optima fuel tank is different from other cars. It has got something like a 'long neck' so you can fill up quite a bit. Not sure how much. But push it to the absolute max then check your maximum range. After that u can go back to filling till the first click.
Will try on my next fuel pump. I never know that the tank have long neck. Hehe

I think ull get better sales in April as more and more people become aware of the Optima. The Optima is currently enjoying alot of attention on the roads. Everywhere i went past 3 days, ive been getting alot of looks especially at traffic light stops and restaurants.
The Sonata is still selling as Hyundai salesmen are marketing it as the luxury variant compared to the Optima. Plus they are spreading news that Kia's maintenance is very high compared to Hyundai. But soon enough, ppl will realise that the Optima's specs far outguns the Sonata for the same price. So we too have to do our part and spread the news. Ive actually prepared a spec list which i laminated and placed in my car to be shown to any of my new passengers. Most ppl i spoke with were shocked that the Optima had such good specs.
By the way, its good to see the big jump in sales for the Kia Sportage since they started CKD production. March sold 325 units. Highest month so far since 2010.
Always glad to see more competition in the market. At least can force those T&H to release a much competitive car.

K5 may attract attention on the road for now. Like all other new cars, it may not last long. What is more important is the value for money (both specs, FC, maintenance and 2nd hand value). Can K5 convince me on these? I really don't know yet. May be the Tai Koh here can share more on these aspects.
both specs - K5 spec wise is very very impressive considering the price that you paying. RM143k+ for all these goodies.
FC - Comparing to my friend's Accord and Camry, K5 is within the range that you expect from a Segment D 2.0cc car. Heavy and only 2.0cc. Cant expect to have same FC compare to lighter weight car.
maintenance and 2nd hand value - Korean car is getting more and more common in Malaysia. Spare part is more easily found now and with the 5 years unlimited mileage, you need to pay for those wear and tear stuff. About 2nd hand value, no deny that currently korean car have sucky resale value compare to other brand but I believed that will change as the "newer" gen korean car is better looking and as the demand increase, so do the resale value. Btw, why you need to worry about resale value unless you plan to drive for less than 3 years?

When i sent the car for first 1000km service, i asked for semi syn because i thought i'll need to send it in for 5000km maintenance. Nvm, guess i'll just ask for an oil change when i hit 6000km later.
In the last thread, someone mentioned that we actually need 4.0litres ++ of lubricant oil only, right? Can we ask for discount or something?Hehe, can't really control myself from hitting 160-180 on the highway...
I guess i deserve the low gas mileage.
Boss, i really admire your love for your car and your perseverance in correcting the wrong perception. I think the general public is beginning to accept that Hyundai and KIA have improved a lot. Recently, I've heard some really positive comments from some hardcore fishing village Chinamen on Hyundai Sonata, in terms of quality, style, and comfort.
SC will never discount one. Business ma.

Hi K5 owners,
I'm thinking of upgrading to segment D car from my current ride, and contemplating between accord, teana, sonata and k5. I'm constantly on highway (long distance drive) so I will need something stable and comfortable.
Teana is really comfortable, but the trimming and beige interior not to my liking. Moreover my relative already own one, so gonna skip this. As for Honda, they insist only on 5k interval servicing, even with fully syn. This really turns me down; once a Honda, nvr a Honda again. This narrows down to Sonata and K5. With all the bells and whistles, these 2 clearly win my votes.
My next concern is maintenance. Had a couple of hiccups/bad experience with both SC; my wife drives a Hyundai, my mom has a Naza make. Both cars' spare parts are comparably expensive, but maybe because theirs are older gen. My mom serviced hers at Kia SC BBK Klang, and most of each visits sure diagnosed with a problem, then the techies 'gladly' insist on changing this and that. Less trouble from my wife's car since its a CBU.
I googled up their maintenance chart, only found optima (no idea if its the latest or older gen). Its definitely cheaper than accord. How's sonata compared to k5 in terms of maintenance? Anyone serviced theirs at BBK Klang and what are your experiences with them?
I believed that there is no big difference in term of maintenance for Sonata and K5 as they are from the same parent company. I service my car in Serdang despite working in Klang. I dont like using Petronas Oil. Haha.
