QUOTE(WiLyi @ Apr 17 2012, 04:24 PM) I would prefer the capacitive button instead of the software button in GNex. The software button bar will take away some of the screen estate. Niceeee. And since you're on capacitive, no worries on long press vs durability. The first thing I did in HOX after rooting is remove the 3dots menu bar and remap the recent app key to menu and long press home button to open recent app I'm on S2, so yeah |

QUOTE(Matrix @ Apr 18 2012, 12:42 PM) I've played enough iphone 4S to know about the retina display...fonts just too small, like HTC Sense (which finally have something to adjust font size in the new ONE series). My SGS2 only 800 x 480 or something. Lookls sharp to me. So blur nor pixellish (unless you zoom in max to photo). What difference?? LOL. Different users are different. If I used an higher reso phone for a period of time, then shift back to S2, I would notice the low reso and be pricked by it.But on a bigger size gadget...like IPAD 2...really sucks...1028 x 768...10"?? Now that's blurred. It's not a marketing gimmick or useless. Rather, it's up to each individual to decide what he/she wants, based on how sensitive he/she is to such changes (in reso, in this case). I use an S2 myself. I'm cool with the whole "overly contrast colors", but I do agree that the reso is rather lacking |

Regarding pictures above, most sites concur that it's probably just a dummy casing. Apparently Samsung, in an effort to keep the actual device under wraps, is sending out test units with "test boxes/casing"

Yea man, sounds wicket |

QUOTE(ngkhanmein @ May 3 2012, 04:38 PM) Don't know why I'm doing this, but:Exynos = SOC. includes cpu, gpu, etc Mali = GPU, which resides in exynos. I've seen the rumored benchmarks, can produce almost the same fps by overclocking GPU to 400mhz (default highest is 267mhz), which I assume would be the clock speed used in S3 |

QUOTE(soulseeker6187 @ May 3 2012, 04:43 PM) Exactly, doubt any game on Android at least needs that much power currently.Though upcoming Nova 3 does look pretty awesome, who knows if that would need more gpu powers. I guess it depends on the person, if you're gonna change phones one year down the road, mali-400 @ 400mhz will take you through the year. If you're looking to keep it longer and still play current games in the future, the fact that it's pushed to 400mhz might leave very little room for further overclocking. QUOTE(nakTT @ May 3 2012, 04:43 PM) Haha actually, the guy trolls alot in s2 thread, no idea why I bothered answering him |

QUOTE(Leo the Lion @ May 4 2012, 10:44 AM) Get the S3 bro. If you really love games, I guess HOX has well, Tegrazone Advantages S3 over HTC One X: 1. Better CPU 2. Better developer community support 3. 3 storage variant: 16gb, 32gb, 64gb + microSD slot 4. Battery replacement. 5. 4.8" over 4.7" screen <-- doesn't really matter actually. 6. More features than HTC One X has offer HTC One X over S3: 1. Better design (still depend on people preferences). 2. Sense UI which is alot nicer than Touchwiz UI. |

QUOTE(benny888 @ May 4 2012, 12:08 PM) Pentile display is not that bad -lah. Look at some shots I have taken of the HOX against G Note ( similar display as the S III ). The colors I'd say look slightly better on the G Note while text the HOX is slight better. The differences is very slight only unless you have microscopic eyes. Looking at each in isolation, I suppose most users will be happy with it I am sure samsung bosses/engineers knows better than us the rationale using a pentile display for their flagship phone http://leemn.wordpress.com/2012/04/04/brie...ng-galaxy-note/ QUOTE(ken2291 @ May 4 2012, 12:13 PM) » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « S beam doesn't require connection to WiFi in order to function Actually ipong material is also nowhere good, just that they boast about how good it is Yeah, unless we go around with a microscopic eyes |
