Definitely. Impossible for samsung to put WVGA on the s3 if even the nexus already has 720p scree, and at most the screen size will 4.8 inch. So a ppi of more than 300 is 99% sure ready!!!
PPi thing marketing gimmick...my old LCD 32" TV still 1368 x 768...still can watch nice 720p/1080p movies and looks great.
Unless you have 20/20 vision, it is not going to matter much to most people...800 x 480 on a 4" to 5" handphone already sufficient. 720p already more than enough. Fonts just keeps getting smaller...no point. Look at iPhone 4S ...3.5" what retina display rubbish...so darn small...yuck...
Im sure you never use an apple device right? I bought an iTouch early this year and liked the display. Nothing special. Then when I got this phone,my god. Pixels and jagginess everywhere!!! widgets, the name of apps, browsing thru the net. All so blur and pixellish. Its A LOT of difference my friend
Yeah, I hate them for that ever-since I come to know that my Galaxy W (1.4 GHz Single) will not get ICS when even SE 1.0 GHz can get one. The sh!t they give is that the processor on the phone can't cope with ICS. Damn Samsung.
tat was the most BS thing I heard from samseng I actually hear from a lot of sgs user I personally know, and also on forms around the net that sgs with ics is actually smoother than any other version they have ever had in their phone
I guess its all bcoz they have got a million phones out last year and cant release ics for all of it. So they give BS excuses
of course what... if not who gonna buy S3? marketing gimmick!
correct, its becoause they cant rely on smooth performance as a selling point anymore. I think any phone with ics + 1.0 ghz rocessor also quite smooth already. So they need to a=have all these software enhancements to sell their phone.
Out of all the crappy touchwiz softwares announced, the only one that interest me is the Smart Stay one. Definitely very useful
Other thatn, that doesnt interest me at all,I was wanting to change to s3 for a higher ppi display, but since its pentile, I guess an s4 will really suit me(cortex a15, almost for sure bigger battery, mali t658, and hopefully non pentile display)
thinking again.... the only things that make me wanna go s3 than HOX is the unlocked bootloader and design.....
what you guys think?
with s2, just flash cf root with odin, and you are good to go. With one x, wow, so many steps lol. But I actually like it bcoz Im that type of person, like complex stuffs
with s2,the process of rooting wasnt that "eventful" i would say. But ofcourse, it so damn easy that I was running a custom ROM on second day of owning my first droid lol
i dont care about the complexity, as long as no too high risk involved (motorola phone totally brick, just want to root) but the void warranty came after that is the hard one
never go for motorola lol if u wanna play with custom ROM/ kernels.
Phones have reached the near the top of the exponential graph in terms of advancement...just like PC graphics card....each new generation less exciting than the last....
The Smart Stay sound nice to have....but will it suck more battery with the camera keeps staring at you?? You guess.
All the new features are basically, nice to have, but hardly exciting or essential upgrade. But if S3 quality has less problem than HOX, than it can still steal the market share due to the popularity of the Galaxy series and hopefully solid quality follow up. IMO, quality is more important than any features or spec at this point. Everyone can slap a quad core in a phone. But not everyone can deliver a phone with minimal issues. HTC may stole the bragging rights, but with all the yellow tinting, screen curve issues haunting nearly each phone (just look at the HOX thread), maybe it's better to release a phone later with more quality assurance.
yeah, ppl always say that htc better build quality blablabla, samsung low quality cheap plastic blablabla, but end up the sensation and HOX are the pone having more problems than the "plastic" s2.
Motorola will be buy over by Google soon....They'll soon become the defacto Google phone standard.
But I heard rumour saying google gonna sell motorola to huawei coz they were actually just aiming for the patents owned by Moto? I dunno, but if they do, then it will be quite nice since that phone will also have a crazy huge battery then
To be fair...S2 also got problems...the non-G version overheats quickly and sucks battery life faster than vampire sucks blood (LOL). That's why they release the G version (G for Good!!! LOL), with less heat and improved battery life.
But that doesn't stops the S2 from hanging occasionally and other problems, regardless of version.
Hopefully, they learnt their lessons, and S3 won't make the same mistake...but i can almost bet it'll hangs at least once bi-weekly....
But my s2 tak pernah hang Except if the ROM/ kernel I flash not stable( siyah kernel caused SOD a few versions back, locking the screen while on camera app will need u to restart the phone in turkbeyROM v37, etc)
but like now I am on cm9 based ROM(D4), the only thing that MIGHT hang once in a blue moon is chrome beta(but super rare)
Dunno for sure. Because Google also wants to make a defacto phone to showcase Android and leads the way. But it's possible also they'll sell to Huawei....and then have special contracts with Huawei to design Google phones at special price...
For me the only problem with huawei is software support by both manufacturer and community. Hardware and price is perfect already. So if the next google phone is from Huawei
ur failed also.. c'mon ur s2 dun have dust insde meh?? i sindih u still dun get it? anywhere also got dust lah bro.. dun prejudice leh!
oh my gawd, so u r saying that for sure underneath my s2 screen there must be visible dust??? wowowow. If u say in the battery compartment got dust , maybe la. but having dust INSIDE the screen is definitely a design flaw.Im pretty sure with the way s2 has been designed, there is just no way for dust to go INSIDE the screen unless the dust has some teleportation capability
this discussion ends here. no need to drag
