Instead of design, I'm more interested to see the evolution of the Touchwiz. Not really a big fans of TW all this while. Since the HOX is already a power house, I'm wondering how does the SGSIII would push beyond the limits

QUOTE(TheLaptopDudeGuy @ Apr 17 2012, 09:49 AM) Light usage with 1h40m screen on time can last 2 days. With 3G/Wifi constantly connected, auto sync on for several accounts and emails, few whatsapp & SMS & short callsHeavy usage with heavy browsing and gaming will last about 20+hours to 1 day |

I would prefer the capacitive button instead of the software button in GNex. The software button bar will take away some of the screen estate.
The first thing I did in HOX after rooting is remove the 3dots menu bar and remap the recent app key to menu and long press home button to open recent app |

QUOTE(waveweaver @ Apr 17 2012, 10:12 PM) Samsung purposely do a late announcement as they intend to make a worldwide release including USA. Indeed. Few reasons hereNot like Galaxy S and S2 where USA get the phone half a year later. 1) Due to Samsung is official partner for Olympic, therefore they gonna launch it as close to the event as possible 2) Info from my fren who is working in Samsung HR that they purposely delay the launching of SIII to rival IP5 |

QUOTE(PsVitaForLife @ Apr 17 2012, 10:18 PM) Not bad at all, but i still prefer S-LCD after the using Xperia s ( dad's phone ) and my One x. Yes in certain areas like black is not that"black", but other than that it's perfect. Natural colours. Amoled a bit too oversaturated but there's nothing wrong, just my preference though +1. I have the same preference of urs. Many of my frens who use SII complaint, how come the picture taken was so colorful but when view in PC is so dull. I was like |

I do agree somehow the high PPI is a marketing gimmick, but once you are on a bigger screen with higher PPI, you will never go back to a smaller screen with a lower PPI. Higher PPI is not only affecting the look of the display, it does also give impact while browsing the net and also during navigation and e-book readings
Even thou HOX and DHD is only 0.4" in different, but the PPI difference is huge. Those day I don't think DHD display is bad, but now whenever I look back at DHD, the text is too big. |

Everything we known now is pretty much rumours. IF this is the highly anticipated successor of SII, I'm sure the scree will be better than the GNex

If I'm not mistaken, those are just a casing that Samsung sent out for testing to prevent the genuine look of SIII to be exposed.
But if this is the genuine look of it, it will be Samsung great disaster if their mission of SIII is to compete with IP5 |

QUOTE(UpCar @ Apr 27 2012, 11:45 AM) i would rather have LTE. our internet connection isnt exactly super fast u know. its quite frustrating opening emails with attachments via 3g connection at most times. maksis sux. cant even download torrent via 3g connection when digi can. there goes my ttorrent app. QUOTE(djlah @ Apr 27 2012, 12:07 PM) same same here. I quit maksis long time ago and switch to smarter side. also using tTorrent here. digi already have commercial tv advertisement about LTE quite some time, hope to see great news from digi soon. LTE is not even stable in EU / US yet, I doubt the loca region here will have something superior than the rest. As some telco can't even have a good 3G coverage in many areas. For me, I rather go for the quad core than the dual core LTE. Even if LTE is launched during the launch of SIII here, you sure can see a lot of ppl is complaining about the bad coverage of LTE here |

Hmm, this round the SIII didn't really make quite as good impression as SII.
Design wise is very subjective, not really prefer that, I will still prefer SII design over SIII. Furthermore it is using the same Mali 400, just an OC version and the screen is using pentile matrix, quite a big let down But 2 things that it stands out compared to other flagship is whopping 2100mAh removable battery and SD slot + 64GB built in memory. Not sure if the 64GB will reach our market or not |

Pentile vs non Pentile will make quite a big difference, especially during a prolong usage like web browsing or gaming. For pentile matrix, you will see a burning marking on a long usage which is the downside of it. I'm quite surprise that Samsung didn't equip it with a "plus" screen like S2

Well guys, aluminium or plastic, the design and built material of S3 has been finalized. No point arguing or rant about the aluminium vs plastic.
At the end of the day, if you like S3 just buy it, if don't like then buy other phone. The whole thread is circulating regarding the built material and design and bashing instead of S3 discussion. I can't imagine what will happened when the actual product reach the local retain shop |
