QUOTE(nakTT @ May 4 2012, 09:18 AM) Lucky you. Also gonna wait for Note 2 for replacing my Note. For me, I only have budget for ONE top of the line phone or I can just go with the 2nd best phone and get myself a china brand tablet with the money left. Of course I would like to have both top of the line Tab and Phone but that is what I can afford right now. |

My personal opinion:
1. Design: The front design is nice, but I really don't like the back design. And the design is at the last of my list that I will look at, so I don't really mind with the design 2. Build Quality: Heard that it uses a brushed metal? Or is it still plastic material? 3. Screen: Tried out the HTC One X, YES the display is nice, but I'm very disappointed with the black level of HTC One X, so I much preferred with Samsung Galaxy S3 display eventhough people are complaining with it's pentile matrix. 4. CPU: Samsung Galaxy S3 packs 1.4Ghz Quadcore Exynos processor (HTC has 1.5Ghz tegra3 processor). In GSMArena benchmark, it beat the hell out of HTC One X and excel in BrowserMark means that Samsung Galaxy S3 is very2 good in browser department. Samsung Galaxy S3 win here 5. GPU: Still using Mali-400 GPU? Now that is old. HTC One X tegra3 win here. 6. Software: The Samsung Galaxy S3 is using the same Touchwiz UI 4.0 but with a little tweak+added features. Most of the added new software are just gimmicky, but it's nice to have something new. 7. Storage: This is the part where Galaxy S3 really beat out HTC One X. With 3 variant of storage: 16gb, 32gb, 64gb plus with MicroSD slot, Samsung Galaxy S3 win here. An option is always better. 8. The camera: The camera UI is still the same like my Galaxy note, but it packs with awesome features like what HTC One X have; Burst Mode and able to capture picture while in recording. Picture quality is still unknown. Samsung Galaxy S3 win here 9. Battery: Samsung Galaxy S3 has a removable battery, where the HTC One X doesn't have. Plus 2100mAh gonna provide extra battery life and I'm glad Samsung made a nice decisions with the battery. Samsung Galaxy S3 win here |

QUOTE(benny888 @ May 4 2012, 11:07 AM) My opinion : Design nothing great to shout about. However design is least of my concerns in choosing a smartphone. Anyway the actual look and feel of it is more important. I remember looking at the HTC One X photos and it was unattractive and looks cheap to me. But when I finally got it in my hands my perception change. The SGS II was claim to be cheap looking and plasticky compared to the HTC Sensation. I have both before and my choice goes to the SGS IiI mainly for its slimness and lighter weight. So design is a different concern to each user. If you think design is your most important criteria and you feel the SGS III sucjks, forget about it. No point moaning over it. Samsung is not forcing you to buy. wow benny, you got the same thought as me. Performance : based on several quick reviews already up, it is not a disappointment and is generally better than SGS II - that is good enough for me. I am infact already very and extremely happy with my present G note though its performance is generally below that of SGS II. I was terribly disappointed with HOX performance ( esp browsing ) finally sold it after less than a month usage - anytime still prefer my Note. This SGS III I will buy but will only just for testing purposes ( hopefully it will stay with me longer than the HOX ); I can never accept any display size smaller than 5" nowadays And talking about display, why so disturbed over pentile. The G Note is pentile but with its higher pixel density ( 285) it compensated I 'd say for any pixelation effects. I used my Note 80% of the time for browsing/ebooks and I am very happy with the display. I do not find anything exceptionally great in the SLCD2 of the HOX or the Tab 7.7 or even iphone 4s which theoretically offers better display characteristics. It is not as if you are going to view these stuffs microscopically. If the SGS III display can equal the G note I am already more than satisfied I also cant accept anything below 5" screens now. But will buy Samsung Galaxy S3 as my 2nd phone (either testing purpose or regular use). |

Been using Samsung Galaxy S, Samsung Galaxy S2 and now Samsung Galaxy Note, indeed, Samsung phone has a very good developer community support. So Samsung Galaxy S3 going to get good support by the developers

QUOTE(benny888 @ May 4 2012, 11:16 AM) I hate to contradict you but it is true my SGS II ( non G) NEVER hangs ; same goes for my present G Note. It only hands when I try to tinker with some system kernel files but that is entirely my fault. It does not mean your unit hang you generalized all Samsung phones hang. And I always claim my phone never hang as I do not use a single cracked/pirate app - sometimes these apps some of them do contribute such issues, eg my close friend who uses a G Note always complain it hang and after listening to my advise did a factory reset and eliminate most of his cracked apps ( I would say more than 80% his apps from black market) , he nowadays rarely complain about hanging issues Indeed this is true. Im an ex-SGS2(non-G) user and current SGSNote user, both never hangs |

It's a good thing that I never expect much from SGS3. So I'm not disappointed like others.

QUOTE(Zeekgreymon @ May 4 2012, 11:41 AM) Get the S3 bro. Advantages S3 over HTC One X: 1. Better CPU 2. Better developer community support 3. 3 storage variant: 16gb, 32gb, 64gb + microSD slot 4. Battery replacement. 5. 4.8" over 4.7" screen <-- doesn't really matter actually. 6. More features than HTC One X has offer HTC One X over S3: 1. Better design (still depend on people preferences). 2. Sense UI which is alot nicer than Touchwiz UI. |

QUOTE(realstingzz @ May 4 2012, 11:48 AM) Aiyo, just keep the Note. Galaxy Note is UNIQUE and the best with 5.3" screen. In term of screen, SGS3 can't replace Galaxy Note (personal opinion though). Get SGS3 as your 2nd phone la.And SGS3 has the same qwerty keyboard like SGS2, I much preferred SGSnote qwerty keyboard Added on May 4, 2012, 10:51 am QUOTE(ellimist @ May 4 2012, 11:48 AM) nothing groundbreaking with tegrazone. QUOTE(tashfinsheikh @ May 4 2012, 03:48 PM) Well, bro Design is the least that I will look at. But IF spec are nice, but design are terribly ugly in the end, I also will think twice. But this design is nice ma, just the back not nice Design is actually the most important part for a anything. I wonder if they will release some back casing that makes it much better looking |

If Samsung Galaxy S3 design is terribly ugly for you, then don't buy. Get HTC One X instead. To me, Samsung Galaxy S3 has ALOT advantage over HTC One X except the design, and the UI.
Samsung Galaxy S3 will be my companion and partner for my Galaxy Note This post has been edited by Leo the Lion: May 4 2012, 03:08 PM |

QUOTE(VerdictReview @ May 4 2012, 04:29 PM) I think S3 hype is not as high as the hype of Iphone4s that ending me bought S2. So far most of expectation about S3 is meet except 12 megapixel for camera and full HD. About the design is subjective some people like it some people don't and some people just bash for sake of fanatic with their own favourite brand. |
