Pocketnow.com review : http://pocketnow.com/android/the-samsung-g...-worth-the-wait

Conclusion : I'm disappointed by the casing and the presence of a still-overbearing TouchWiz, and I worry about how well that 2100mAh battery will endure … but I'm also incredibly excited about this device. I've accused Samsung before of copying instead of innovating, but this announcement is a prime example of the company at its best. It seems like they herded all their best thinkers into one room, asked them to come up with their most outlandish ideas for what a UI could offer, and executed on fully half of them. That's space-age thinking; that's imagination in action … it's Samsung in its best form.

It's unlikely that any of these features, standing on their own, will take the industry by storm, and if they were included piecemeal across a portfolio of separate devices, one or two per phone, I'd call them all gimmicks. But gathered together inside one device, backed by Samsung's marketing and the cachet of the "Galaxy S" brand, I think this phone stands to markedly change the face of Android going forward.
I want one.

their focus is on software this time. copycat apple which focused on siri. now they copycated siri and add more fancy stuff. even copy htc with the dropbox but offer double storage.

QUOTE
The green subpixel is long and thin, while the blue subpixel is of the same length but thicker. As for the red subpixel, appears rounder, which indicates that it’s shorter than the other two subpixels.

All this points to the matrix used in the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. That one used long thin green subpixels, thicker blues and shorter reds.

I don't mind the copying part. If they don't copy, we have lesser choices. Doesn't mean this co created a phone then other companies can't create right? smile.gif What I like is that they really brainstormed to intro those new features, which differentiate them from other manufacturers who build a phone then just put Android with custom ui on it

beg to differ. everybody knows the hd super amoled is just increased pixels but still use the pentile matrix.
it produces inferior results.

with super amoled+ like the s2, at least it stands a fighting chance.

last time already lost to retina. now with the super lcd by h1x, it is lost further ground.

i know too but seriously do i need to close up my eyes to the screen and look what is the REALITY behind the screen technology? i cant be bothered to look at the screen closer to sms, call, browsing, games, etc as pentile or not pentile i cant see much difference in real life unless i have superman eyes or even wearing ironman suit.

of course super amoled + is the best for this flagship phone but what hast been done already done.as famous quote in malaysia, "kalau tak suka, u boleh keluar"

i nvr use HOX before but each have it's own disadvantage.

super amoled is good in dark/black background(movie) while SLCD2 good in white background(browsing)

we don't see that way but it does make difference, how about you buy an old mobile with normal LCD screen only and compare it with S2 ? you will see a big diff

same goes for this, you will see the diff, a gorgeous screen is gorgeous, no matter how ignorant you want to be, you will surely see the difference

Better screen is a + point

but at this point we are not sure if the screen is good or not and I think it will be good smile.gif
