Hey guys. I am a newbie in the industry of OCing so I'd be glad if you guys could help me out w/t suggestions on this.

In a nutshell, A couple of friends and I came up w/t the wacky idea of modding a CPU casing for a club project. Originally, the idea was to build one from scratch (which was blatantly impossible), but after some thought, we noticed that our school's com labs had a junk pile of old casings and figured we'd just help ourselves to them biggrin.gif

While ideas are still running between us at this time, I was hoping if you guys could help tell us a little about casing modding. At this point , our ideas are on the lines of :
1) Cutting a see-through side panel in the......side panel(?)
2) Flashy lights (LED fans etc..)
4) Repaint

In regards to the above, the biggest thing I'd like to know is how to go about hacking the side panel apart. I read ianho for a while and he used a jigsaw, but i highly doubt such a thing would be allowed in the school premises. Alternatively, does something like a metal cutting shop exist?

Any assistance would be much appreciated. Advise, Ideas or even a big "its not possible" would help laugh.gif

Note - I'm in the PJ area and my school's SMJK Katholik. Heard of it? Also, we dont really have a big budget on this so it'd be nice to be able to achieve this project with under RM200

Thanks a bunch!

Wow you guys are the best smile.gif

Just found out we have a tool shed (Bengkel KH ^^) that has a jigsaw. Blades are probably in need of change though...should be manageable.

Any suggestions for a side panel design? Memory taught me that what looks good on paper doesnt always work in the real world. If you guys would be kind to throw up some ideas, maybe i can get the gist of a good side panel design. My guess is the key is simplicity?

UPDATE: How much does acrylic cost? Im familiar with the price for the internal parts (Fans, lights etc..), but it'd suck to fall to an Achilles Heel

Sweet rig too, kherel!

Alright. Thanks for all the advice. Ill see if we can get this idea through our teachers (lol). If so, I'll upload images of our product. One thing to note though, the cases are REALLY old so there's only so much we can do, haha

Should i run into anything, ill post it here
