It depends which area. If you could a GSM reception there , you would have no problem , as you're able to use GPRS to surf the Internet.

if your budget is around RM 350 a month , you can surf anywhere in the jungle with 128k/512k speed . check this at www.smartmalaysia.com or send queries to info@smartmalaysia.com . they hv something like 2000 over sites installed in the school in the jungle of Sabah and Sarawak( as well as in the town)..

yeah..u can use ur nokia 6610 to surf the web on ur laptop via GPRS.
u connect ur 6610 to ur laptop with IrDA.. but take note that GPRS rate is quite expensive as it charged on how much data sent and received instead of time of connection.. thanks.. |

Yea u can use 6610 irda to linkup with your notebook to surf but the speed is real slow .. slower then 56k. the fees also freaking expensive. recommend u to use a bluetooth enable phone and link up with your notebook with bluetooth, its way much faster

You can always buy a data cable too. No need original data cable also can. Just get those cheap RM10 ones without a brand. If you are using Nokia, install Nokia PC Suite on your PC/Laptop and configure. It should work.

Again , IR Could transfer up to 115.2Kbps (max) and sometimes its somewhat slower then a 56K Modem itself (due to the nature of IRdA) or You could buy a cable and connect it to your PC. But I would not suggest you using GPRS and surfing web pages (unless you're on the unlimited GPRS Plan or EDGE Plan then its worth it , otherwise you will be spending a lot). I meant a lot of money. Its not really worth it
But agian if you want , I would suggest you getting a PDA and linking it up with your Phone. PDAs dont tend to "waste" as much of bandwidth then the desktop counterparts , plus PDA Web Browsers can able to surf WAP-enabled sites (e.g Mobile MSN , Mobile Yahoo) at a lower cost and you could use applications like MSN Messenger for PocketPC on the go. Trust me if you do the same thing on your PC , it will just cost more , because its heavier |
