more fibre in the diet is needed. be careful with your fat intake....i see a lot of fried food.

to lose weight, total calorie intake should be less then total calorie expenditure. go google to find the formulas and count them on your own.

I'm a female looking to lose weight. 10KG within 6 months.

I run 3-4 days a week @ 5km per session. Apart from running, do I need strength and resistant training? I have 5lbs dumb bells and exercise balls @ home. Planning to get a resistant band and P90x bar as well.

Should I be worried bout growing bulky?

if a person is having a calorie deficit diet, the person can do whatever he wants without growing bulky

i wanted to slim down since 2006, but i end up put on more weight, just can not resist the nice food around. don;t know how to be more discipline. Any want have any idea how?

go get the nice food. it is ridiculous to have an extremely strict/clean diet and have strong cravings for certain food.
the diet plan is bound to fail.

so go get the nice food. include it in the diet. but control the portion and frequency of the nice food.

Means the minimum amount of calorie required? Or the amount of calorie intake < amount of intake burnt?

if your goal is losing weight, isn't it obvious that you need a calorie deficit diet?

deficit is calorie intake < amount of intake burnt

Am I allowed to eat anything such as snacks etc as long as I maintain and monitor my daily calorie consumption? I'm talking about maintaining my caloric deficit.

Or are there food restrictions?

food is food......call it whatever you want....snack, lunch, appetizer, dinner, cheat.....your body can't tell the difference.

as long as you calculate everything you put in your mouth.....

the dreaded belly fats...

hi guys just wondering if there is any optimal way to lose belly fats, coming to my 30's I found myself more concern over my tummy where is very prevailing and not a good sight to behold upon.

over the past 4 weeks i've been vigorously exercising my abs, eating clean having proper sleep, avoiding alcohol. and the results ,  just minor changes on the tummy area but still have lotsa fats...
its seems as we age its harder to lose this nasty fats?

all the guru guru and sifu sifu sifu of fitness please provide me a beneficial guide line so i can actually see the results quicker.

calculate your total daily energy expenditure

have a diet 10-15% lower calories than that.

spot reduction doesn't work. a total body workout is better.
don't rush to lose fat/weight. take your time.

hi guys. I am 171cm and weigh 126kg. I've been thinking of changing my diet starting 2014. I have been lifting 10 kg dumbbells since 2 months ago and started going to the gym yesterday.

I am thinking of changing my diet too. I don't want to eat rice anymore and heres my thought of a new diet:-

-1 x boiled potatoes
- 250g of diced chicken breast meat
- boiled carrots, broccoli, and french peas
- 1 x hard boiled eggs
- banana

packed into one tupperware for each bfast, lunch and dinner. I know this is a noob diet, but thats just what im thinking of doing. I am working as an auditor and hardly could find time to do my regular exercises etc.

What do you guys think? hope can get feed back.

looks ok on the surface.
1. if weight doesn't go down, be ready to cut down on the carbs in the diet.
2. i am a bit concern on how long you can keep up with such a diet. looks rather bland/boring.....use different seasonings/ cooking methods without adding too much calories. that will keep you feeling more satisfied and have a more effective diet.
3. 3 eggs a day can be a concern considering you are already overweight and possible have a cholesterol problem. go have a blood test, if your cholesterol is already elevated, 3 eggs a day is not the thing you want.
4. too many excuses. the busy working doctor that has a elite tag in the bodybuilding forum will give you a spanking. laugh.gif. there's always time for exercise. no excuses.

hi, i'm a 25 years old guy. height 177cm and weight 108kg. yeah, obese..

so, i joined a gym. 2 weeks already. i hit gym 3-4 times a week. 30-40 minutes cardio. and some chest training, biceps triceps, leg exercise. overall, i spent 1 - 1.5 hours per day in the gym.

based on bmr and tdee calculation,
my bmr = 2066
tdee = 2841..

so, let say i wanna lose fat, how much calories i should take everyday? if i take 1800cal, means i deduct 40% from my tdee. ( read from website that we should not eat below the bmr. really?? ). if i deduct 20% from my tdee, means i should eat 2270cal. but then 2270 is really much. as i wanna lose fat now.

eating 1800cal is kinda much already. i'm using myfitnesspal to plan my calories intake. for the past one week, my goal 1800cal, eating 1500cal, calories burned 400-500cal, net 900-1000cal, remaining 600-700..

so, need to eat more to achieve 2270cal or just take 1800cal? should i include calories burned or just ignored the calories burned when i calculate overall calories intake per day??

tq..

how much weight have you lost for the past 1 week?
get on a weigh scale and measure......if lose few kilos, maintain that diet.

if not, eat lesser than you are eating.

simple.
