I did this:

breakfast: 3-in-1 nescafe with egg whites x 4 or nescafe 3-in-1 with oatmeal

lunch: normal, but no more extra rice or side dishes. no oily stuff tho.

dinner: usually is 1/2 of what i have for lunch, or just low fat milk with oatmeal. 2 oranges/apples.

jogging 3-4km daily. and use my wife's eztone (not sure if helps) for 10mins.

my height: 175cm
my weight: 104kg atm.
calculated calories intake per day is about 1600-1800. but once in a while, it go up to 2200 (my wife know how to cook some serious food during the weekend)

i started the above plan on 22th Aug, lost 5kgs so far. not great i guess, but it works for me. feel hungry occasionally at night, if i only eat fruits for dinner, but a glass of low fat milk do wonder biggrin.gif

feel more energetic now and feel like keep on moving around, like a bit too energetic to sit tight do nothing. and it feel nice to finally able to wear some old shirt comfortably which was tight around the arm last month.

target is 75kg, about 1kg per week, and hopefully i can achieve this before CNY.

Uhhhh I think it has been mentioned numerous times in the forum, on and off in threads. Doesn't matter what time you eat - be it dinner or wee hour supper, calories intake in 1 day = calories consumed in a day. It doesn't change no matter what time you eat. Doesn't mean that you eat late and thus you'd store more fat.

Don't take 3-in-1, go for black without sugar and creamer. Add some milk if you want. 3-in-1 contains a lot of sugar so don't take them often.

So if you'll be hungry at night, just eat a normal balanced meal for dinner. Stack on vege to get more fiber and feel fuller.

And 1kg per week is pretty high. Note that weight loss that happens too fast without sufficient time or workout to tone/ firm your body might result in sagging skin in later stage.

*
it is just that if i eat too much, i have trouble sleeping laugh.gif my diet now consist of 1/3 carbs but x2 greens. meat wise i just stop eating fried ones but portion remain the same. and i hate black coffee without sugar LOL.

actually after starting to change my eating habit, i realized something. i used to stuff myself until very full. and i felt sleepy soon after a heavy meal, and occasionally i can feel my heart pounding super hard. but i no longer have that problem now. so im going to stick to 'eat until full, but dun over eat'.

ya, oat is pretty awesome. a 1kg pack cost less than RM10 and can last me about 2-3weeks maybe. and it REALLY helps lower down my cholesterol level. its calorie per serving only about 120-130.

btw, i started my diet and workout (jogging) plan since 22nd Aug, lost 7kg as of now. and i still eat a lot of protein - eggs, lean meat. helps keep me feel full. more vege same portion of meat and less rice/noodle. u got the nutrients u need while taking in less carbs, cant go wrong i guess.

btw, i have some question for experts here, how do i lose my leg muscle? >< i was training the wrong way in the past, and my legs are pretty thick. and in the past i kind of struggle to find myself some jeans. those that fit my legs properly are too loose for my waist.. not so much problem now that im freaking fat, my waist already kind of force me to wear super sized pants...

Be more clear here. Is it your waist or your legs that are the problem?

Thick legs never bothered anyone. Well, unless of course it's fat thick,  instead of lean thick
*
ok, to be clearer, few years back when i was slim (75kg), my legs gave me problem. i have to wear a bigger size of pant and usually that means its too loose for my waist.

now im fatty boom boom, my waist thick, so not much problem. but i intend to seriously lose my weight and i might face the old problem.

i went for spa with my wife oso the Masseuse said my leg very thick.

edit: i was train in taekwondo and my coach focus on training my legs, and i ride mountain bike to uphill/downhill everyday. so basically most of my training during that time focus on my legs. :S

then you need start count your calories and marco. if you determine to lose weight, counting calories and marco (use fitnesspal app or google) wont be a problem for you. and do you know what is you daily maintenance calories now? (not last year dec ya). then try do it with 10-15% deficit.

2nd  there are different diet protocol out there (Intermittent fasting, zip zap, 24hours fasting), you can read it,pick one and follow and track your progress. (3-4weeks)

3rd don let body in calories deficit for long term, the fat loss will stall due to homeostasis. google it out.

do your homework, it is a journey..  nod.gif

how long is consider too long? started my diet plan + workout a month ago, so gonna have to know more bout these thing.

Hi ,

I'm now in 20s and my weight in 120kgs .
I've lost my weight from 110kgs reduces to 80kgs quite some years ago and now i gained back my weight even more than where i started to lost .

I used to workout at gym but now i lost my passion of doing a lot of cardios , exercises . I joined Fitness first and Celebrity but terminated eventually due to not going , finding excuses for myself .

Now i thinking to join Jatomi , but i still not finding the right passion which i had ages ago . Anyone have any idea how to adjust my own mind ?
*
i think u need some serious motivation. i used to be just like u, i lost about 7-8kgs then i give up, and eating my way back to the original weight of 102kg, and then keep gaining weight until 109kg. but after 1 of my colleague died of stroke at the age of mid 30s, and my company event organizer died of heart failure at the age of 41. it kind of struck me that i might end up like them if i dun start taking care of myself.

at 33yo, my blood pressure was 140/90, my cholestrol level is dangerously hight at 5.9, wegith 109kg. and all these stats just scream that i am very unhealthy. i felt tired easily too. i ate nasi lemak/roti canai for breakfast, mountain high of rice, especially bak kut teh for lunch, some other heavy meal such as McD for dinner, potato chips & a canned of coke for snacks before i sleep. sitting down pc gaming or watching movie after work every day. thinking back, feel kind of scary, biggrin.gif

then i dig back my old photo when i was mid 70kgs few years back, and that kind of make me sad. so i challenge myself to lose my weight to 75kg, lower down my cholestrol level to normal range, and hopefully i will be able to live without the med for my bp. oh ya, and able to wear those shirts and pants that left in my closet.

That was scary indeed, good thing you have resolved to changing your habit wink.gif

I used to be a couch potato. Love sitting in front of the TV with junk food (chips, twisties, whatever you name it). I still do but have since replaced them with groundnuts instead.
Yup, you'll need to find the reason why you'd want to go through with the transformation (aesthetic, health or personal satisfaction etc) and then use that as the key motivation to stick to your workouts. Aim high biggrin.gif
*
arent groundnuts supposed to be high in calories? not sure of it myself, been told bout that.

btw, every now and then, some frens/colleagues will come and ask me "are you losing weight? u look slimmer" and that kind of make my day, haha

my weight now stucked and doesnt seems to go down. i eat the same amount of food (1600-1800 calories), jog 5km and some sit up. but tbh, i dont really care anymore. just gonna stick with my diet (cant eat much now too, feel like stomach got smaller biggrin.gif) and workout. good to see my weight go down that fast during my first month tho.

btw, i noticed that the more i workout the heavier i get the next day. after jogging for 20km over the weekend, i am 3kg heavier. so i get why some ppl feeling frustrated and might start giving up.

1. Best refer to Darklight's reply above.

2. Maybe you'll want to tweak your workout a little and do it differently each day. Eg. Day 1 and Day 4 focus only on Cardio - HIIT workout all the way. Day 2 and 5 weights only etc. Then another day = rest or stretching (eg yoga). Just a recommendation to tryout and see if it'll work. Everyone's body works differently.

3. Nothing wrong with eating meat if you can get it. More source of protein. Just be careful on the parts and method of cooking. If you really want to take care of your meal, eat lean meat that is cooked healthier - steam, boil stir fry, lightly pan fried, grilled etc instead of fried or deep fried.

Oats is good, take it regularly - but preferably you don't eat it with too much sugar. Otherwise it defeats the purpose wink.gif
Time to tweak your workout? Body adapts easily.

And after you've jogged 20km... do you eat a lot to replenish?
*
no, just the normal meal. got full easily lately.

im not in hurry to shed my weight, so i'll just keep on doing what i've been doing. at the very least, i feel good

skip rice, teh tarik, roti canai. 2 bow of rice + 1glass teh tarik + 1roti canai = 20km jogging you need to burn calories.

you need achieve calorie defecit to lose weight. normal people need 2k calorie daily to maintain weight thus make sure you get less than that, be it diet control eg consume high fiber protein and low carbo food + workout.
*
all those skipped already. now my meal consists of oat for breakfast, single serving of food (noodle, rice) and oat/fruits/rice or noodle occasionally. calculated calories from 1500-1700. lost about 10kgs since 22nd aug, but still 24kgs to work on. my weight was fluctuated around 3kgs last 2 weeks after I decided to up my workout, but started to go down again now. nothing is more satisfying that able to wear back my old shirts and pants, and no longer struggle for breath after climbing stairs and feeling super sleepy after each meal.

I still occasionally have something like banana leaf rice, curry mee but limit them to once a week, usually on saturday which I am able to work out twice, morning and evening.

Hi everyone here. I'm a female teenager, and I'm overweight since I was small. I'm around 160cm tall and 75~kg. I really want to lose weight. But I don't know how. Like, what exercise to do and how to plan a diet? I wanted to go to the gym but it's a little too expensive for me. My housing area doesn't have a playground or any places to exercise. Please help, I'm sick and tired of being a fat one.

I think a good diet shouldn't have all these. All more fruits, oatmeal, veges should help.

fresh fruit and vege you mean ?
like a cook one can also or not ?
*
what i do is i take less rice, more fried vege for my mix rice lunch. at nite i eat a small portion of meal (actually is single portion for my wife, but I used to eat 3 times of that), and fill my stomach with fruits, eg: apple, orange, pineapple, or yogurt.

im not starving myself, but also not over stuffed my stomach. and cut down all those fried stuff. I still eat those, just once a week or longer. From what I read online, curry contains very high calories too so that also in my No-No list.

My target is to lose about 30kgs. and I will reward myself with something cool for every 10kgs I lost (spending RM1.5k buying computer parts now for the first 10kg i lost brows.gif ), a brand new LCD TV for the next goal, and for reaching the ultimate goal, I am going to get a tattoo. icon_idea.gif I got myself targets, which make dieting and exercising easy for me.
