Guys, how about a cup of green tea before sleep? Will this help promote fat loss? *Including cal deficit , cardio and weighlifitng of course.
*
Yes, the catechins do assist somehow with preventing fat storage, and the polyphenol content do provide some health benefits. But it's no biggie. It just means that it is a healthy beverage. Too much is detrimental as well, as tea contain oxalates which potentially (widely debated) increases your risk of developing kidney stones, and it is also an anti-nutrient. It's not recommended to have tea before sleep due to the caffeine content which could disrupt sleep quality.

So.... what all these mean is that.. it's a healthy beverage but won't do much in terms of bigger picture based fat loss.

A post that I made earlier in another thread as well, some supplementary info:

QUOTE(DT1 @ Dec 7 2012, 10:24 PM)
Depends on your goals.

If you're talking about metabolism, fat loss, and alertness, it's entirely insignificant when compared to coffee.

If you're looking at stress relief from sipping green tea, some slight mental boost from the mini caffeine content, plus some health promoting qualities derived from the poly-phenols content, yeap it is good for this purpose.

The part on fat storage inhibition, cinnamon powder would almost definitely do a much better and significant job.

By the way if you drink milk then it's a pain in the ass cause then you won't be benefiting from the polyphenols.

Therefore, notwithstanding the fact that green tea is a healthy drink, the claimed benefits for bodybuilding are just over-hyped.

At first glance the menu seems like a good recipe for muscle mass loss. Confirmed upon viewing your picture in provided link.

I'll let the other forumers explain.

Very less exercise and very poor diet and it reflect on your transformation pic wink.gif

Less weight =/= good thing. What I can see is that you lose quite a few arm size and still the flabby fat belly is still there. You've turn from fat to skinny fat which is still fat nonetheless.

FYI. I always keep my body in check for muscle mass, water level, weight, bone mass every week, so not only focusing on weight.

Picture itself only shows the transformation of before and after. Body fat was 22.1% and now is 18.5%.

My method is to reduce my weight and body fat up to the limit where it cant drop anymore, then more intense workout is required to convert some weight into muscle mass.

So, from twice a week cardio, right now i on P90X program everyday for lean and tone body.. Not going for muscular type, unlike the guy in below picture. lol.

You only provided your bf% reduction. Where is your muscle mass reduction?
The bolded part: You have a very clear understanding of human body *sarcasm* but... your only workout each week is one hour cardio. How would you gain muscle mass?

p/s: if you don't have any muscle to start with, don't be judging others who have more than you (as per the pic), saying that you can be better than them. pfft

Why don't you use this picture instead. The guy you posted up was in the "bearmode" zone.

Your personal transformation pic is in the chubbyfat or skinnyfat zone.

I guess most would wanna achieve ottermode or atheletic, which are very reasonable achievements, both in terms of physique and health.

Not trying to diss you, so don't need to be defensive. Just highlighting something that you overlooked, so that it may help you.

I missed that image so badly biggrin.gif

On the other side, the fat muscular guy IMO is more like a dirty bulking phase rather than bearmode. But one thing for sure, the muscle that he packs under the fat on his body is surely impressive yet newb tends to completely disregard that point.

Sighs... nevermind.. At least you lowered your risk levels for diabetes and heart diseases, which is a good thing. To reduce it even further you'll have to re-read our comments without prejudice.

Then based on your pics, diet, and regimen, you can't exactly continue on with the same thing to achieve those physique.

Cut the cardio already, increase the amount of food (healthy selection), and do resistance training! Throw in some cardio once a week or so, but do things like these

Everything comes easy with strict discipline. You seriously do not need anything else. Save the money for good, nutritious food which are essentials.
