If you really want to introduce yourself like that, instead of using "Malaysian Chinese" might as well as you introduce yourself as "Malaysian from Chinese descendent".
During my time studying over there the words "Malaysian Chinese" or "Malaysian Malay" or any other word that can be intepreted as 'racial' are prohibitede especially during your first self-introduction to the Japanese. You can explain about races in Malaysia, but not during your very first self-intro.
(But that was during my time, I do not know whether they still implement that 'rules')
If you think back, to them, they don't actually care whether you're Malaysian Malay, Chinese, Indian, Portugese, bla..bla... To them YOU ARE A MALAYSIAN.
