I going to study in Melbourne in less than 2 weeks and I am thinking of getting a new laptop before I go there if its cheaper to get here?

Any sifu can advice me? biggrin.gif

Brand : No preference.. got international warranty can le
Budget : 2k~3k
Usage : Mostly for school work, some animes & k-drama.. maybe a little DotA, LoL, HoN probably.
Screen Size : No preference.. But I think the laptop itself should be a little light so I can carry around Uni?

Also if possible have integrated mic & webcam? if don't have also nvm though biggrin.gif

btw sry for noob question but all laptops that are released now have integrated wifi receiver?

The Inspiron 13z is your average laptop with basic GPU. Its a little old and might not handle your games so well depending on what games you are playing.

Its hard to recommend without an estimated budget  nod.gif

I'm not sure whether if its cheaper here or there  tongue.gif

You can try these:

Asus
N45SL (Jay-Chou edition), i5-2450M + Nvidia GT635M@RM2899[Bang & Olufsen], 750GB (7200rpm), Color: White

Dell
Inspiron 14R (Special Edition), i5-3210M + Nvidia GT640M(28nm Kepler)@RM2199[2.38kg], 4GB, 500GB(7200rpm); backlit keyboard optional
Inspiron 14R (Special Edition), i7-3612QM + Nvidia GT640M(28nm Kepler)@RM2799[2.38kg], 8GB, 1TB(5400rpm); backlit keyboard optional

If you wan light weight, you can go for this:

Dell
[Ultrabook]Inspiron 14z, i5-3317U + AMD HD7570M + 32GB SSD + 500GB(5400rpm)@RM2599[1.87kg], 4GB, 500GB(5400rpm) *no VGA port

Yes they will automatically detect wifi  smile.gif

I've heard from many of my friends that Dell has over heating problem, and that the fan does not function well I think.. Do you have any other recommendation?
