Pretty much the Dell XPS 15z if you're looking for something light with good battery life, and oh, chiclet keyboard as well brows.gif
Dell XPS 15z, i5-2450M + Nvidia GT525M (1GB) + (1920x1080)@RM3599[2.51kg], backlit keyboard

Bargain for lower price brows.gif

1. Preferred Brand: Any brand that worthy the price and spec.
2. Budget: 2.5k-3.1k
3. Usage: use for autocad programs, some 3D architecture programs, lite gaming and HD video streaming.
4. Preferred laptop/screen size: atleast i5 processor, if got i7 between the budget is better, 15.6" wide screen, with chiclet keyboard, if possible be lighter.

thanks smile.gif

Hi dude,

I have chosen some of the laptop that I suit me for my architecture and engineering students usage. I prefer use AutoCad and Google Sketchup 3D for my works, HD Streaming and Lite Gaming for entertainment. So I need a better graphics. So I need guys to recommend me which is the best and value.

I would choose a 15.6'' laptop with 2.5k-3.1k budget as below list:

ASUS
1) A53SM-SX019v, i5-2450M + Nvidia GT630M@RM2449, W7HP

2) A53Sv-SX792v, i5-2430M + Nvidia GT540M (2GB)@RM2499, 750GB (7200rpm) USB3.0

3) N55Sl-S2064v, i5-2450M + Nvidia GT635M + (1600x900)@RM2899[Bang & Olufsen], 4GB, 750GB(5400rpm)

HP
1) dv6-6c19TX, i7-2670QM + AMD HD7690M XT@RM3099[Beats], 4GB, 750GB (5400rpm)

Toshiba
1) Satellite P755-1003X, i7-2670QM + Nvidia GT540M@RM3299[harman/kardon]

Can tell me what is the different of Graphics performance by Nvidia and AMD?

Thanks =D

Better check on whether Nvidia GPUs are better supported by the programs you are using bro nod.gif
Performance-wise:
AMD HD7690M XT > Nvidia GT635M > GT630M = GT540M

AMD HD7690 by HP dv6 is dual core? how many ghz ?

HD7690M XT is the better graphic but if you pick MSI you will have an easy access to the hardware for maintenance or fan cleaning while for HP u probably gonna spend a good 2 hours to open it. laugh.gif

I say the quality is ok but not top notch. Depend on how you take care of it and a little bit of luck.

It really depends on your usage.
If you don't play games at all except for apps or word documents/AutoCAD/graphics etc. then iPad will be sufficient.

I tried the autocad in ipad. its seem can't do everything what we can do in pc ><

but u hav any desktop/ laptop? bcoz i think u nid at least 1 of those to do ur assingment for ur engineering subjects....ipad is sumwhere in between laptop and mobile phone... it's more for entertainment and some light workload (editing documents, reading lecture slides, surfing the internet, email , etc)... U will still nid a laptop/desktop for engineering...i usually use my ipad b4 i sleep, wake up and during lecture classes...so it really depends on what u hav n use...
*
Yea I got a slow processor desktop and my dad's "slow" laptop. I think I will buy a iPad and use the desktop for autocad.
Imma save money and wait for Windows 8 with 3rd gen i7 laptop smile.gif
One last questin, is that iPad's iWork can works like microsoft office (word, excel, powerpoint)?
Anyway thanks for ur advice =)
