GT635M is a rebadged GT555m, so you'll be fine with the RM3.1k variant (if its FullHD, do check before purchasing) nod.gif

Guys i'm thinking of getting my first laptop for myself but I do not know what to buy. Do give me some recommendations smile.gif

Preferred Brand : None. Any would do.
Budget : 1.6k max
Usage : Watching HD videos, some gaming(point and click games)
Preferred laptop/screen size : 14" if possible

O and also guide me to the seller that has the laptops recommended for sale because I am really clueless about this. Thanks smile.gif

Can consider this one:
14"
Fujitsu LifeBook LH531, B950 + Nvidia G410M@RM1599, 2GB, 500GB, W7HB, colors: black/maroon/red

It shouldn't be too hard to find, just make sure that the spec and prices are correct, and that the laptop a sealed unit (taken out from a completely untampered, sealed box) nod.gif

Is it really worth to get a laptop with full hd screen? It's sharper i know, higher PPI. Just a better screen. But on a 14 inches laptop, 1366x768 should be good enough. And on 15.6, 1600x900 would be good enough. Maybe Full HD on 15.6 would look great.

Oh have another question. Why MSI laptops not so popular in malaysia hor?

Well, depending on individual taste. Personally for me, anything below 17" can do without FHD. 15.6" looks fine with HD+ and regular HD is alright on anything 14" and smaller but again, personal preference.

MSI has just recently started to promote their mobile offerings aggressively, that's why.

Ahhh, I see haha, then this one then:
15.6"
HP dv6-6c19TX, i7-2670QM + AMD HD7690M XT@RM3099[Beats], 4GB, 750GB (5400rpm)

...still, if you can wait, you might want to wait for the upcoming models with the more powerful Nvidia Kepler GPUs (around 1- 2 months) nod.gif

Hmm, HP. I like their designs. Maybe I'll wait, the Acer4730ZG I'm using now is still fine. Running Skyrim on low performance mode though:P
Thanks for the suggestion!

Pros, am looking for a laptop with the criterias belows:
1) price up to 4k
2) for the purpose of watching drama and gaming. preferably no overheat issue.... i am using toshiba satellite m500 now, and hav phobia with the overheat.
3) screen size: not demanding on this.
4) any brand

i have been researching around and i found out that most ppl are recommending Asus here than Lenovo. But from China website, most of them are going toward Lenovo, but still Asus has quite good review there. Lenovo Y470 and Y570 or 580, i have forgotten, have the best review by them. So, what do think about it? Thanks!!

I used to own an M500, really hated it... fcuk Toshiba for even selling it laugh.gif

Are you buying in a hurry? If not, better wait for the upcoming Asus N and G series with much better specs nod.gif
We recommended Asus because their laptops offer good price:performance ratio nod.gif
The Y470 and Y570 are alot worse than the Asus G series (if your budget is Rm4k) if you're looking at gaming performance...
