All the while using company laptop, now it's time to buy my own,
1. Preferred Brand : acer aspire s, the slim one or Mac book air or any similar slim type.
2. Budget : rm3000
3. Usage : for outlook mail
4. Preferred laptop/screen size : does not matter as I connect to monitor

Noob here. If Mac book air, can used all the office stuffs, power point, excel, PDF files etc. as my iPad does not seem to be able to open some of them. For  memory to keep all my mails, can I get an external storage to link all my storage mail. If Mac book is prefer, can I link with normal all in one printer.  Why the above choice, answer is Gaya a bit lah... I had all my company laptop heavy to travel around.

Thanks.

Not really familiar with MBA, but if the printer supports Macs (most do), then I'm sure it can be used...
For Windows-based ultrabooks (equivalent of MBA), can consider these:
13"
HP [Ultrabook] Pavilion dm3-1001TU (Folio 13), i5-2467M + Intel HD3000 + 128GB SSD@RM2999[1.49kg], W7HP

Samsung [Ultrabook] 5 series 530U3B, i5-2467M + Intel HD3000 + (16GB SSD + 500GB [5400rpm])@RM2699[1.45kg], 4GB

hi guys .

1. Preferred Brand = anything

2. Budget = below 1.5k ( i got an ssd crucial m4 at me now)

3. Usage = secondary laptop,blogging, office works

4. Preferred laptop/screen size = below 12 inch and not so heavy <1.5kg?

thank you. smile.gif
*
Just curious, where did you plugged in the M4 in your body? brows.gif
Try to look for this one if possible:
12.5"
Samsung 3 series NP350U2B, i3-2350M + Intel HD3000@RM2099, 4GB, 500GB, W7HP

Earlier versions e.g. i3-2310M version will be around RM1.5k only... at that price, its the most powerful subnotebook at the moment nod.gif

Otherwise, just go for 11.6-12.1" notebooks with AMD E-450~

Hi dude,

I have chosen some of the laptop that I suit me for my architecture and engineering students usage. I prefer use AutoCad and Google Sketchup 3D for my works, HD Streaming and Lite Gaming for entertainment. So I need a better graphics. So I need guys to recommend me which is the best and value.

I would choose a 15.6'' laptop with 2.5k-3.1k budget as below list:

ASUS
1) A53SM-SX019v, i5-2450M + Nvidia GT630M@RM2449, W7HP

2) A53Sv-SX792v, i5-2430M + Nvidia GT540M (2GB)@RM2499, 750GB (7200rpm) USB3.0

3) N55Sl-S2064v, i5-2450M + Nvidia GT635M + (1600x900)@RM2899[Bang & Olufsen], 4GB, 750GB(5400rpm)

HP
1) dv6-6c19TX, i7-2670QM + AMD HD7690M XT@RM3099[Beats], 4GB, 750GB (5400rpm)

Toshiba
1) Satellite P755-1003X, i7-2670QM + Nvidia GT540M@RM3299[harman/kardon]

Can tell me what is the different of Graphics performance by Nvidia and AMD?

Thanks =D

I'm guessing that what you're trying to ask is about the availability of a VGA port (Since most old projectors only support this type)?

And yes, all the ones you've mentioned confirm have VGA port nod.gif

All of them are good picks nod.gif
But if you're using the laptop for work, it'll be better to go for the Vostro 1450 (or you can consider the Vostro V131 [13"] as well)..
The Inspiron series are nicer looking but are less user-friendly- They're glossy and collect dusts and fingerprints fairly easily...

Still, regardless of which one you buy, try to upgrade the warranty to 3 years on-site nod.gif

Better check on whether Nvidia GPUs are better supported by the programs you are using bro nod.gif
Performance-wise:
AMD HD7690M XT > Nvidia GT635M > GT630M = GT540M

You'll gain significant performance boost if you opt for an i7 (and plenty of RAM) upgrade instead nod.gif

Well, that's quite a good budget for a 10.1" netbook nod.gif
Can consider these:
Acer
Aspire AOD270, Atom N2800 + Intel GMA 3650@RM999, W7S, free Acer pouch, colors: red/black
Aspire AOD270, Atom N2800 + Intel GMA 3650@RM1099, W7HB, free Acer pouch, colors: aquamarine/carnival

Asus
Eee PC 1025C, Atom N2800 + Intel GMA3650@RM1059,2GB, 320GB(5400rpm), colors: Black/red/blue

HP
Mini 110-4117TU, Atom N2600 + Intel GMA3600@RM1099, 2GB, 320GB(5400rpm)

Lenovo
IdeaPad S110, Atom N2800 + Intel GMA3650@RM1099, 2GB, 500GB, W7S; colors: flower/red/blue/white/black

The Cedar Trail Atom processor is quite powerful yo, even capable of playing 1080p videos now iinm
