QUOTE(PF T.J. @ May 1 2012, 11:45 AM) Anyway, the review on the Lenovo Y480 did show that the GT640M LE is around the AMD HD6790M right? Still better than GT635M? Not really sure, what do you think? **But then I do like the new design haha I guess u meant HD7690M. HD7690M is on par with crippled GT555M in Y570 which has been rebadged to GT640M LE. |

QUOTE(davidyeow94 @ May 10 2012, 12:29 AM) Please help me choose.. MSI GE620DX, i7-2670QM + Nvidia GT555M (2GB)@RM3099, 8GB, 640GB and Hp dv6-6c19TX, i7-2670QM + AMD HD7690M XT@RM3099[Beats], 4GB, 750GB (5400rpm) Which is better? Nvidia GT555M and AMD HD7690M which is better graphics? HD7690M XT is the better graphic but if you pick MSI you will have an easy access to the hardware for maintenance or fan cleaning while for HP u probably gonna spend a good 2 hours to open it. |

^ Ivy Bridge mobile processor don't use Integrated Heat Speader (IHS) so it's not affected.

QUOTE(kayent @ May 22 2012, 04:55 PM) Just to relate my story when buying an asus laptop: In my opinion.. N55SF 1080P > N55SL.Was interested in getting the n55sl. So went to this shop at capsquare which sells mainly asus only. Thinking it was reliable I asked about the model n the guy told me they have to check the stock » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « |

QUOTE(zulfadzlis @ Jun 1 2012, 05:05 PM) just realized that Dell inspiron 14R SE uses 2GB of Nvidia GT640M(RM2999) while 15" uses 2GB HD 7470M (28nm = newer)(RM2999) & there another 15" with 32GB ssd + anti glare (RM3399) Typo? Should be HD7730M right? because 7470M is no where near GT640M.but the 14" is only 2.38kg while the 15" is 2.78 kg I need to make decision now because tonight I'm going to buy the laptop. BTW which place should I buy it ?? lowyat ( many say they cheat people) or other places like pavilion ?? |

QUOTE(PF T.J. @ Jun 2 2012, 07:48 PM) Wow, that's new... Still yet to see how those amd new 28nm gcn based mobile gpu perform in real life.. except for the big brotha HD7970M. Hard to choose now considering the performance is more or less the same... Nvidia for better software support, AMD for lower heat and power consumption? |
