What options do i have with...
1. Preferred brand : HP/Compad/Asus or any other considerable ones 2. Budget : Rm2500 +/- 3. Usage : Works with lots of multi-tasking, and probably run 3-4 virtual machine. 50% works, 40% movies/entertainment, 10% games. 4. Preferred size : at least 1280x800 I am also interested in those come with decent speakers like Altec/Bang but i do not want external speaker, (note i will avoid Beats Audio so dont suggest me that), so far i liked the keys of Compaq keyboard, typing seem more comfortable for me with that. QUOTE(jakuraz @ May 16 2012, 02:48 PM) my hope with N56 is gone...too expensive i think. regarding the y580, called up a lot of shops here all haven't got stock yet, still have to wait two to three more weeks after the pc show they said. For the price, all said don't know, but there's a gal told me that it might be in between SGD1599 and SGD1699. i7+gt 630m =rm3599 ...low resolution summore...add another rm200 can get Asus G55vm alrdy maybe they are expensive because of the full-aluminium body? im currently waiting for Lenovo Y580.. i7+gtx 660m+1080p res = predicted at RM3k but duno when it will be released. maybe one month to go.. The gtx660m will be an option addon which will probably cost an extra 1-2k Ontop of base price of RM2700.If Malaysia selling @ RM3000+-, definitely will buy in Msia XD US priced @ USD899 only ~ RM2697! source: http://gdgt.com/lenovo/ideapad/y580/specs/ Also due to the relatively thin build of the laptop and the light weight (it's only 2.7kg compared to asus g55 3.8kg) there will be insufficient cooling to support the more powerful graphics card. If u read up online. Alot of ppl have the same ideas. |

Why would anyone buy the Y480 later if the Y580 cost about the same. It might have offering of GT 640M LE, GT 650M, and GTX 660M. Same goes for the screen resolution. Just my opinion though. |

QUOTE(Tomato and Egg @ May 16 2012, 09:45 PM) Better in terms of?The M14x is no where near the G55 in terms of GPU performance... As for CPU performance, the M14x is either on par or better than the G55 (depends on what specs you choose for the M14x); still, there's no point in getting a too-powerful CPU since the M14x won't be able to handle the heat produced... The M14x wins in portability, bling bling and warranty support as well (if covered) The G55 wins in terms of bang-for-buck, two years stock international warranty and cooling. |
