I bought a PC in a store with the most terrible looking case to offer (I mean the suckiest case you will ever find in a store. I was forced to take the Azura 3000 with 4 usb front panel.) It was small ugly and the interior is just normal aluminium with no black interior. So I didn't want to be laughed for such an ugly case (is ugly to me) So I first took our all my component, even taking parts of the computer case like the usb front panel and just laying it on an art cutting board (plastic and bendy). I used that method with all my components exposed for cool air for 2 months. I looked around my case yesterday and found alot of useless cardboard box that I didn't see no use in my home. So I thought to myself, why not a cardboard pc? Is easy to mod and it's 'different'. I measured my motherboard and cut a rectangle for the io shield. I even cut a small rectangle for my dvd writer and psu. Pictures are all below. So yeah, 4 hours yesterday and 2 hours today and its done. It looks like poop because I didn't spend much time on the design and just use metal string to twist the motherboard to stand up right. Closed-cell foam were use at the back of the motherboard for padding. And please don ask me about the alienware. I don't use an alienware. I manage to put 2 hard drive in and I used a usb hub which have a led built in and use it as lighting. it's great pc to my liking since it runs eyefinity. And it can run eyefinity . Testing after all component is installed to make sure it's OK.
well there's one thing I learnt researching using cardboard for a pc case. Is that if the computer catches fire, you're a moron. And I can do better, I agree but I'm an impatient guy and I want to do it quick

Well I ditched the box. Chop it up and threw it away. I prefer my open air cooling. Just use a art plastic cutting board and laying the motherboard and dvd driver there.
What I found out that basically when I was playing was that, Using a cardboard case, heat won't come out and my graphic card now with open air cooling(50C idle) while in cardboard (65C idle). I learnt my lesson to not use cardboard as a case while overclocking a cpu with a stock cooler xD
If you can get and use Lenovo desktop box it might be more sturdy and can hold the mobo set weight... Last time saw the box panel stated can carry 20 kg limit.

So I didn't want to be laughed for such a hazardous case. fixed.
nah, jokes aside, i think it would have turned out better if you mod the azura 3000 in the first place. either that, or using acrylics.

What I learned was, better to cover it with something, I put the box on top of it. If you don't cover it with something it gets dusty very fast \
In the end, who are we going to impress anyway right? I don't have a case either, I have to short the contacts to start it

Casings as such doesn't catch fire easily. Try light a fire or throw some sparks on a cardboard and you'll see it doesn't catch fire as easy as you think.
The problem with cardboard casing is that it does not help heat dissipation, this is unlike steel or aluminum casings where they do help transfer heat from internal to external.
I can do the mineral oil cooled pc. But the main problem is TNB (*** nia bu) sometimes cut their electricity and I know this for a fact. A mineral oil pc cannot be shut down. It has to be taken out. Dry for not days but weeks. Plus if case cracks, you're screwed. and I don't want to be that guy who comes to pharmacy and order 42 bottles of mineral oil and look like a pedophile. Plus it's too much work and you can't upgrade anything.
Is too much work for so little looks. If you want sponsor me or help you create a mineral oil pc, I would.
